    It's an almost permanent refrain now that 'Sunak is really bad at politics' but it's so very true.
    Biggest announcement of his ridiculous career and he picks an outside podium in the pouring rain being drowned out by Steve Bray's speaker rather than utilising the million pound Briefing Room that his Party spaffed taxpayers money on only 4 years ago.
    Everything he touches turns to ****! <doh>

    The GE announcement itself should also be non-partisan I thought? He broke that rule and he and his government has broken several similar restrictions over the last couple of years, making Tory broadcasts dressed as a Ministry pronouncement. All were breaches of the Ministerial Code but went unpunished.

    Not sure that Sunak sees rules and regulations as a particular obstruction! <laugh>

    Quite appropriate that he effectively announced the death of the Tory Party standing in the rain in front of a plain wooden lectern, like some estranged son speaking at the graveside of his recently departed parent! <laugh>

    The good news is that, as I go on holiday today, I miss a couple of weeks of "Angela Rayner sold a house she legally owned!" and a tsunami of culture war bullshit this election will guarantee

    The bad news is the Loan Watch thread won't be updated as quickly as usual...
