any idea how many we are taking? a good old tuesday night fixture with plenty of thought for the travelling fans, just like swansea last year..ha ha cant see too many there, but at least there should be plenty of space to avoid the old standing/sitting confrontations..
I'll be there, hoping we do something to erradicate the memory of the 4 - 0 last time I went! Tuesday will tell us a lot about this team and its manager.
I'm going, it would be nice to meet anyone form here going. Striking the next day...... Hope Fryatt does some great striking on the night....
Someone i know is off to the Southampton match. He's travelling down from Newcastle and back on the same day. Dedication or what.
aye, it looks as tho all city fans will have the chance to meet and greet each other individually...maybe im imagining it, but im sure when we went to places like torquay and leyton orient on tuesday nights in the lower leagues, there was always a hardcore 1,000 travelling fans at least, i always used to say if we ever got to be a "big" team, meaning up in the top of the championship, wed take thousands everywhere
true, not having a dig for people not going, just disappointing in a big game with a big home crowd to compete against noise wise, hopefully there home crowd will be as quiet as ours , be nice when the fixtures where sorted if they make midweek games a 2 hour travelling distance maximum or something
Think we'd bring a fair few if it was a weekend match- look our away following at Brighton, that wasn't too shabby. I doubt Southampton will have half a stand of youngsters screaming "who are ya" at the City fans everytime we have an attack like us at the weekend. Probably the only decent thing about Saturday was the "you're getting ragged by the kids" chants.
i am doing Hull to Huddersfield; Huddersfield to Southampton; Southampton to Huddersfield; Huddersfield to Halifax. First thing Wedensday Halifax to Skipton then finally Skipton to Hull. Smoke me a kipper, I ll be back for breakfast!
Err, no. Hard core of a couple of hundred (four at most) as I recall it. We even managed to fit in to Barnet's temporary stand which wobbled when you walked on it - on a Saturday afternoon at 3pm! Think its just those that now recall being there, that number in the thousands.
ive been at torquay on a tuesday night with over a thousand there, or maybe i was just drunk and seeing double
Unfortunately, this will be the second game I've missed so far this season. I've got to be in London tomorrow and normally I'd drive down to Southampton and back and stay over in London, but I've got to drive home tomorrow night, as it's Mrs Lambretta's 50th on Wednesday and if I'm not there, I get no tea for a year.
Tut tut, priorities OLM! Women always come round eventually, they need us as much as we need them. You can always be a bit of a sly fox about it too, apparently someone wedges a potato up your exhaust tomorrow and when you start driving your piston shoots through the barrel. There you go
what a lame excuse. ever heard of the meeting taking longer than planned ? be strong and show who is the boss ? i am drivin down in the morning and back after the game. expect to be back in hull and in bed by 3am latest. this is a great game and ive been looking forward to this one for ages. another long standing home record about to end. Arsenal - Nottingham Forest and now Southampton. Bring it on.
And what would be the best 50th Birthday present she could have? Tut Tut Tut. You have dropped to the position of bellboy as opposed to number 1? Think I am going to sulk on the 'Sea and Sand' with Dr Jimmy! (For those that dont know, its nothing to do with Bullard, although he may well know Dr Jimmy as well).
