    I wonder if I'll be allowed to vote in it if there is one.
    In spite of recent shenanigans here, I've sensed that support for Scottish independence has been hovering around the 60% mark - after him labelling people like me as extremist in that speech, it wouldn't surprise me to find support has increased by another 10%. Nor would it surprise me to find that he's disenfranchised us all.

    It seems like they're trying to piss 90% of the country off. There'll just be a few diehard Tories, Daily Mail readers and some immigrant haters left to vote for them.

    I feel sure that if he could find some reason to put an election off, he would take it. All the polls show that the government will be hammered, and that is before you add in the thousands across the EU who have registered to vote. There is a deep-seated resentment here about people having their rights stripped away from them.

    Last week, my mate was in hospital in Yeovil, undergoing tests to see why he was reacting very badly to his cancer treatment. At 3.00pm his wife left him with a new book to read, and headed home, half an hour away, having been told he would have to stay there for another two or three days. At 5.30 pm she had a phone call from the hospital to say they would have to discharge him as they needed the bed. Back to the hospital, and a three-hour wait while they found someone to draw up a list of medications for him, then another hour for the paper work for his discharge to be finalized. So he is home now, feeling a bit better, but still no idea what the problem is that sent him there to start with.

    So. 1 ) The hospital is doing its best. 2) People aren't machines. Sometimes the condition, symptoms, cause just aren't apparent. 3 ) Just be pleased he is feeling better.

    This morning I spent an enjoyable hour people watching, while Mme had her hair done. The market square where I sat is busy with people coming and going. Directly opposite me is the local bar, and people were sat outside at the tables set up on the pavement, enjoying the warm sun. It was something of a surprise when I came home to see this headline. I am sure that my French bar doesn't know they are banned from doing it.

    It should not be forgotten that all of this money is counted into the claim that the NHS has received record funding. Just how many people are waiting for treatment because money has disappeared into private pockets we will never know.

    True - we never will. Certainly not as long as -

    The media refuse to report on it;
    The Police do nothing about it;
    Politicians remain tight-lipped about it.

    Sunak and his cabal prefer to deflect away from such important issues by refusing to answer questions in parliament, blaming others when things go wrong, waffling about small boats, trying to disenfranchise voters with unnecessary photo id requirements, making protests illegal etc etc - and having the nerve to brand people like me as an extremist and a danger to the UK.

    Wasn't expecting that. Fantastic news on a miserable rainy Wednesday.
