The student discount are for those in full time education, if they are not they shouldn't get money off, if they are it's an administration problem.

To put it another way, if the swans announced a few days ago what they did, and removed the kids & oap discount, what would people be saying ? I think some stereo type students to hopeless layabouts , but I was one who worked bloody hard to earn a degree and finance a family, I was sleeping maybe 4 or 5 hours day, the rest was taken up by work, studying, and college.

Going to watch the swans was my relief of a stressful week, before going to work on the nightshift on my self employed job, without the discount I could never have been able to support the club.

I have no issue with discount for students, but where is the line drawn. As i said. do we give discount for the man/woman who has just lost their job because of the current economic problems. do we give discount for someone who is working on minimum wage but not bright enough to go to uni. But is still earning very little. Where do we stop with this? The line has to, rightly or wrongly be drawn somewhere by the club and they have done it at oaps and kids.

My son who as I've mentioned before is a student, will get to see his first Swans Premiership game away at Blackburn next week, and he will be in the company of 12 other local lads, mostly all are students, he payed £25 for the ticket, thinking along the lines of the liberty not checking that there was a cheaper student price (Not much cheaper though), but I think that the club originally sold Season Tickets far too cheap, and are now using any vehicle to claw back as much money as they can, but I don't agree with the way they are stitching up students, after all these are the group that we want to harness as future Jacks surely!...............

With respects mate, the student discount has always been there, if they remove certain aspects of it now like they have, it's alienating fans away from supporting our club, they are going to lose people because of this.

In regards to where to stop, that has never been an issue as there was never a discount given for low paid jobs, so not really a point to discuss.

Spoken like a true Jack mate <ok> Isnt it ironic that someone who has access to the Platinum lounge doesnt give a toss about people who work on minimum wage or support a family, only students. 'Let them eat cake' eh Jager

To be fair crc i dont think thats what jager is saying... If there could be a divide between prices based on what people earn then great, put it in force. But the point being made is that they have taken something that was being used (student discount) and have decided to get rid... Its totally different for something not existing (which should) for something being taken away.

Jager is wrong actually CRC, the club have always looked after those out of work or on low income too, all that anyone who was unemployed or on low income had to do, to get the same discount as OAP, was to produce a Passport to leisure pass, this was a policy for many years round the Liberty, but a few years back they limited it to the South, and East stands, I know because a mate of mine always used to produce his PTL pass, so Jager stands corrected on that one!................

CRC it was meant in the way that the club have never taken low incomes into consideration when pricing tickets, it has always been this

    Full price
    OAP
    Students
    Children U16

And in regards to the platinum suite, yes I have access, my uncles company pumps in more into the club than most of us have ever invested into the club, every year, I choose not to use it because I prefer not being there so I opt to pay, like I have always! I would say that is a true jackl!

I never knew that Phil in truth, but the point is they don't offer it in the same way as an OAP /Student / Child tickets do they?

Guess there are many struggling to make ends meet but we have to realise that if Swansea City is to continue to compete at the highest level it needs the funds to make it possible. I have some sympathy with students but it not only a case of students not being able to buy tickets for the games at a rediced rate this season, many full paying fans who've been supporting us for years and for one reason or another and didn't buy a season ticket are now unable to get to watch us anymore because the tickets are snapped up as soon as they go for sale online.

Personally I'm only working part time but literally all my spare money goes on the Swans, I make the choice to purchase a season ticket every season to support the club I love. For those who are upset now at being unable to get a student rate home ticket I ask how committed are you to the Swans cause and would you get yourself a student seaon ticket next season even if we were to drop down a division? The club are trying to compete with the big boys many of whom don't offer a student rate and infact charge a lot more than us (ok maybe not Man U but they do have 50,000 MORE seats than us), would you prefer us to stay up and charge more or drop down and re-introduce student rates.

All I can say is Jager, I was there week in week out, when my mate produced his PTL pass, he would be given a concession ticket equivalent to, the same price as an OAP discount from our ticket office, two season's back, his tickets just stated OAP, but was told that the PTL was now limited to the east and South stand, it wasn't advertised that well by the club, and some staff at the ticket office didn't now what price to charge, but I always remember the reply coming back from a senior person in the back room of the ticket office, 'you charge the same price as OAP'!....................

Liberty. I would guess that a lot of students can't afford £300 odd in cold blood for a season ticket, so would have bought one on the day, we have 3 people here who are effected by this for next season, so it is going to effect people. Can I just say that the people who didn't buy season tickets, whilst sad for them, is nothing to do with this, the same as the quickness of the tickets being sold, there is nothing students can do on that score.

As I said if this was the OAP/Child discount going there would be literally blood letting on here about it, but because its students being stitched up, they are suddenly hopeless layabouts (my impression) not loyal fans (or words to that effect), so they don't matter, I am sorry I strongly disagree there, all fans matter IMO, we have been struggling for years getting numbers in, and these people would have been a part of it.

And can I say this effects everyone who is in full time education 16 or over, finding £289 for a season ticket maybe a bit difficult, paying in instalments impossible for anyone under 18, and nigh on impossible for teens now. Which comes to my next point, they may have been happy paying £16 a time for tickets this season, so never went in for a season ticket, so now there are over 5k on the waiting list, they have no chance! So its left to the £35 tickets only!

Arnt you lucky Jager. I also have contributers to the stadium, but unfortuantley arnt related to them, Rattan Tata isnt my uncle. You bring personal things into this that I dont want to influence my judgement. Ive come to the terms that I cant afford my season tickets, but I dont have to be happy about it.

The bottom line is, our club have been very good at looking after all disadvantaged, and I hope that, that good policy continues, because Swansea area is not awash with cash, and living standards in Swansea, are not the best, so it's good to see the club help where they can!....................... <applause>

CRC let's hope Dai is wrong and the extra seating is started soon, listen how do you think my son and I feel, we've not missed a home game in over 12 years, until this season, and until the extra seating is in place, we as Jacks are frozen out, not a pleasant pill to swallow!...............

Listen I made a small comment to Rhys about the platinum suite, but you are the one who brought it back up here, so therefore I responded, if you didn't want to bring a personal issue in why bring it back up ? I also mentioned my daughter, is that okay ?

And I am truly sorry you can't afford your season ticket, but it's not my fault and we all have issues in life, and I know you haven't said it was but I get a feeling you are venting on me when it's not justified.

Dragon, I have nothing against my fellow swans, we all come from different backgrounds. But I dont like the way that the club can change the way they get season tickets money, it just sucks that only the better off or fans that put themselves in debt can afford the terms that the club.

Yes the kids are the future of the club, and as those kids grow up they do their GCSEs and turn 16 then the discount is gone for match day tickets, it's a bitter pill to swallow as phil just said when these kids can't go to games because they have been frozen out by cost and the removal of something that has been there for years!

You don't seem to get it, you just think its the students in uni I am concerned about, but it's all people sitting exams, going for A Levels , or thinking of going to college to get extra qualifications or abilities. And as most of these kids are from here they have just been disregarded as much as you from the club!
