I agree with you. Only explanation I can think is that Still isn't allowed to talk to any other clubs until 1st June. So announcing earlier would compromise either his pay off or expose us to having to pay compensation.
I have absolutely no idea what's happening. There's a lot of moving parts and they don't seem to be moving all that hurriedly.
Yeah hopefully fishpaste is right and we hear something by the end of the week, would be mint to get this over with haha
i don't know when it will be announced but been told he'll be officially taking over from the the 1st of june
Sounds like a joker. 16 hours he reported our interest in Peter Krawietz. 1 hours ago he said despite reports we are not interested in Peter Krawietz.
Doesn't look like hedging to me. It looks like journalism. He's reached out to other clubs linked with Still and asked where they are with him. They've all basically said nowhere. Edit. Sorry I thought there was quotes in there but there's not
@benpescodjourno ‼️Reports from France suggest that #SAFC are expected to announce the appointment of Will #Still over the next week. The majority of the groundwork has already been done over the past few months and that has apparently put #Sunderland ahead of other clubs but they still need to move quickly. ❌Former #LFC coach Peter #Krawietz will not be the next #SAFC boss, despite recent reports of interest. ⏳Not much in terms of domestic reports yet, but certainly interesting. ⚪️
I'm sticking to my suggestion earlier today he'll be announced Saturday 1st June. Or maybe Monday 3rd June. I think that we can't announce him until then due to compensation being due if he discusses a new role with any other club before end May. Based purely off gut. But it also syncs nicely with Fishpaste's "3 weeks" suggestion from 10 days or so ago
Either twitter is playing up for me or that Ben Pescod has deleted all his tweets on Will Still today
