Loved it, just loved it when we beat them 4-2 in the Peter Taylor era. Remember their captain mouthing off before the game - just fired us up even more

Wrong terminology used there. The point I was trying to make is that we pretty much matched them toe to toe both home and away. Depth and quality of squad told in the end where we lost or drew bur they didn't play us off the park.

Good to see the FA bring in these measures.

In 2022, we became the first national association to successfully adopt the International Football Association Board (IFAB) trial to remove deliberate heading in grassroots football matches at U12 level and below.

We first introduced the IFAB trial in England following our steps to bring in heading guidance in youth football in 2020, and then the implementation of heading guidance in training across every level of the professional and amateur game in 2021.

After two seasons of the IFAB trial in English football, we will now introduce a new rule to phase out deliberate heading in matches in all affiliated grassroots youth football between U7-U11 level over the next three seasons. This includes all leagues, clubs and any affiliated school football matches – starting with U7-U9 level from the 2024-25 season, then increasing to include U10 level from 2025-26, and U11 level from 2026-27.

From the start of the 2024/25 season for U7-U9 teams, we will be rolling out deliberate header restarts, touchline restarts and removing sanctions in the event of a deliberate header in a match.

Whilst true it's also coincided with Eze and Olise being fit together. They showed it in glimpses under Roy so feels more the issue than manager potentially.

Well, Man City do it again. Foden, Rice & Bellingham in England midfield is an inviting prospect, I just hope Garth gets a word of advice from Acun and gets the team playing on the front foot.

I just hope Cole Palmer gets a go I think he offers so much unpredictability and he’s got a great technical brain and ability. Forgot , Gareth won’t play him!

the final post this season about goings on in scotland's 4th tier, league 2.

the play-off to play in that division next season was a two-legged affair. on may 11th, east kilbride and stranraer drew 2-2, leaving all to play for in the second leg at stranraer. stranraer went ahead just before haltime but east kilbride levelled in the 76th minute. extra time arrived; the first session brought no further goals. in the second session, penalties were looking more and more likely until, with three minutes left, stranraer regaind their lead. a minute into added time, they wrapped it up with a third. it all proved too much for east kilbride's spence, who, in the remaining few minutes, earned himself two yellow cards and, in the words of the great eddie waring, an early bath.

    stranraer retained their sfl place.

“I find it terrible when talents are rejected based on computer stats. Based on the criteria at Ajax now I would have been rejected.

When I was 15, I couldn’t kick a ball 15 meters with my left and maybe 20 with my right. My qualities technique and vision, are not detectable by a computer”
