Great times. Started getting real at the quarter finals for me. The win against Sunderland at the KC was a fantastic performance and day. Then outside the ground learning that we had the blunts in the semi's. That was a bye to the final and two guaranteed Wembley trips to come.
I was walking up to anlaby road and someone sped by in the car park shouting we've got Sheff United. I posted that on here a few years ago and turned out it was probably lambo and his lad in the car.
And a bit of the table diving at the crystal club pre the Sheff United semi final. It was repeated before the final but felt forced at that point.
Absolutely brilliant pre match in the crystal club. Brilliant coach of people and result. Took my two youngest who learnt that day that Dad swears a lot.
Like others, I can't watch the final back again. That said, I will always remember us going 2 up and wanting to bottle that feeling! Likewise just before KO when 35,000 of us were singing "Wise Men Say" brought a tear to my eye as I remembered my dad - a lifelong City supporter who never would have imagined we would reach the heights that we did.
Despite what many think/say about any future we may have as a Premier League team, I remain convinced our best days are yet to come. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Agree, I'd love to see us properly fulfill our potential, in the meantime destroying Sheff Utd in the semi at Wembley then going 2-0 up in the FACF takes some beating, ten years go quickly, what highs await in the next ten?
One thing that still peeves me about the final is that it's always hailed as a magnificent comeback by Arsenal - no-one seems to mention that the equaliser came from a corner that should actually have been given as a dead ball. Just one of several very strange decisions given in Arsenal's favour over us during our time in the premier league.
