We've just sacked the guy that's been leading that work. Whoever we bring in is unlikely to have us set up in the same way, it sounds like Acun will make sure of that.

Traore surprises Me, thought last year he really looked the part when he came back but Rosey didn't fancy him....the rest no surprise they've gone. Sad to see doc go, great pro and some great times but he's not a top half regular and needs to go somewhere he'll play 40 times next year

It comes down to making a pragmatic decision. Can we get more for our money by getting Traore off the books? The schedule in this division plus his history suggests it's the right decision, although he obviously has class. How that money is reallocated will be the bigger decision.

Yet both the other 2 midfielders look utterly average without him. That last sentence is utter rubbish and a complete misconception about him

Seri is a proper footballer someone if I had a young lad I would take and tell him to watch and learn. His biggest problem now is age and he struggles to get back when we lose the ball. However he as a football brain and with the right players around him can be so influential in a game. Going forward do we replace him with someone younger (not cheap) or build a team around him for next season with a good defensive midfielder. It’s all up to the new manager and a lot depends on who he as in mind to bring in. One thing is for sure it’s not only the midfield but a few up top are needed as well. Interesting couple of months ahead.

Not the first time it’s happened, same happened with Huddlestone. Classless from the club really

I'd happily sacrifice some of the creativity to give us some more legs in there

Slater and Morton both average without Seri next to them

The only example of that is when Mika went to the AFCON and we were missing Philogene & Delap too. So it's an oversimplification as we looked complete ****e as a whole.

I don't believe we can be defensively solid & carry Mika as you need someone who can do run for days as well as being good on the ball to partner him.

And a high press, wide-open style, he just doesn't fit.

Slater is a decent utility player, I'm still none the wiser over what type of midfielder he is though, he's a bit jack of all, master of none as he can do a bit of everything. Morton is young but faded significantly.

Piss poor that. Players should always be notified before the retained list is published. I’d be fuming if I found out on LinkedIn that I’ve been let go before my boss tells me 1-1.

It’s just poor that they clearly haven’t learnt from the situation with Hudds. Manager in place or not, someone at the club should make the effort to tell them, would take a matter of minutes. All well and good getting the positive PR from good ticket prices, holidays, etc but things like this leave a sour taste.
