Sounds like it could be a bit of beef between him and the new sporting director. Wouldn't be too upset if he turned up here.
On paper I agree considering they just got to the playoffs but they appointed Ben Knapper from Arsenal to be their sporting director during the season and he wants his own man. Fans wanted Wagner gone earlier this season as well and despite the better second half of the season his reputation hasn't really recovered. I think someone from Arsenal will end up at Norwich, maybe Stuivenberg the assistant to Arteta.
Bayern really struggling to appoint a new head coach. Think they'll be close to double figures in terms of rejections.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nestor_El_Maestro I remember being linked with this fella, must have been when Lee Johnson got sacked.
Curious to what people think about managers (players as well I guess) having a previous connection to Sunderland versus being unrelated to the club and perhaps even unfamiliar. If that matters at all? Or if you have a preference. Also, I was just looking through managers out of work just there and noticed Scott Parker, for example, who has a Newcastle connection and wondered if that would hinder him considering the amount of time passed since he played for them.
wagner sacking now confirmed David Wagner departs Norwich City NEWS 12 minutes ago Norwich City have parted company with head coach David Wagner. Assistant head coach Christoph Bühler will also leave the club. One of the things I had hoped we would avoid is competition from sides post play offs sacking managers. Assumed we would have had it nailed down very quickly post last match. Maybe we do and it is all done, but I have to say it is feeling a bit more worrisome as time goes by.
Aye on one hand we get choice on the other we get competition. Needs sorting soon tbh if it’s not done already
Club seem to be drawing a line under this season today, with the retained list and preseason. European leagues finish this weekend. I'd guess we'll hear something over the weekend or early next week. I'd put my money on the new man being in for next Friday, start of the Bank Holiday too. Lines up with the 3 weeks timescale which was mooted, well 3 weeks ago
