It's bizarre how much people big up Hull's squad. They weren't Man City. They finished pretty much bang on where they should have given money spent and that's not something to be taken for granted either.

Sure but why does that matter? If Klopp suddenly says he wants to manage us when he leaves Liverpool, despite not being a part of our original shortlist, does that indicate lack of planning or simply being reactive to what is on the market?

Sure Peter o’rourke is the only decent journo for footy insider so I wouldn’t get too concerned on this one

I dont think there squad is any better, or worse, than norwich's or WBA's

They had some really talented lads but also some poor players imo

I wouldnt want roseniar based on the style of football, they were far too slow n boring last season. We need to play at tempo, thatll get the crowd involved and gives us the best chance to be succesful

What is interesting is that I think Norwich are going to sack Wagner after they lose tonight and i've seen reports that both Leeds and Southampton would look to replace Farke and Martin if they don't go up.

If it gets to next week and we still haven't made an appointment and West Brom go up we could be looking at another 3 championship clubs needing a coach, and you could argue all 3 of them are more attractive jobs than us. We need an appointment now.

Get your point but to have 4 months looking for a manager, then appoint someone sacked by hull a week? prior would make me think they weren’t really sure what they wanted and went with an easier choice.

Obviously like you say if a stand out candidate is suddenly available then you may have to change approach, but for rosenior? Not sure he’s that calibre yet personally

Makes him the wrong choice. Doesn't make him a yes man.

I'd take Farke or Martin here to be honest. Still praying for Still or Svensson though.

    Same.

what’s the point going from Beale to Dodds to Rosenior? It will make me question what sort of football KLD & Speakman class as acceptable.

Not the fans. I doubt we have any real influence.

I was really voiciferous about our reputation after sacking Mowbray. Optics were really awful. I didnt speak to anyone outside of our circle who thought it was sensible or educated. On top of that now I fear we are putting some stringent rules re finance in place, and from a low mid table position, that would put a lot of coaches off. I said clearly letting us drift to a low mid table position would create problems and I fear that is now reality. Somebody is being asked to take over a side in a real decline, finished 16th, with very little upbeat news. We all love the club but we are fans. Coaches, and in particular, have a CV to protect. Mowbray sacking and our whimper of a season will need some selling to elite or upcoming coaches is what I mean by a rod for our own back. Last season was a bit of a disaster imo.

Depends what's happened in that four months. If all of the candidates on your original list turn you down, looking at who becomes available seems sensible.

Before Beale I was reasonably confident the ownership had a sound process for recruiting a manager, it just seems very messy now.

Whats starting to worry me slightly is the imminent comment was passed on by the club at the meeting.
So the longer before the announcement happens the more I'm starting to think the original candidate has pulled out.
For the club to be releasing information that it's imminent, they must have thought days surely not weeks

That's fair, personally I'm not too bothered about style of play it's points I want and I think he'd get them. The other blokes mentioned might be amazing but there's also a bigger chance they flop completely, relative to their experience in the role.

Besides, Rosenior's an intelligent person, I don't see any reason why he can't sit down with Speakman and agree to play a more expansive style from the outset. He's only young not like he's got any one method set in stone.

Im unconvinced pal..Speakman is pulling all the strings here...i want a manager to run the football side of things..manage, coach, recruite and build the club...not a coach who would settle for a DoF sitting in a office dictating how things in the first team should run...

Maybe i need to change my thinking...to engrained in tradional set ups.

    Yeah this.

We are either getting riled up or excited by reports written by Wayne Veysey and Alan Nixon. No reputable journalist have even mentioned our search yet.

Nobody seems to know anything, even the ITKs in the fanbase are going against eachother in terms of the information they are receiving.

Thanks, wasn't having a go, just wondered what your thought process was.

I'm still at the stage that it's taking time to get the full set up in place although I base that on wild optimism

Right, I see. On that basis then, anyone they appoint and is happy to work with a DoF can be considered a yes man. Personally, I think we have to move to that way of working or be left behind.
