What was I wrong all season about? Did I say we were going to lose every game we won? I'm just not joining in the big throwing the toys out the pram, cos finishing 7th is completely in our hands and we're significantly better than Brentford.
I predicted 5th at the start of the season, which was a reasonable bet at the time. Obviously Tonali and injuries have dictated otherwise. Given what's happened, 7th and Europe will be a good result.
You didn't take the bet until half way through the season mate. 8th is fine.. in fact people were coming after me for saying that in the pre season.
No of course I didn't take it then, as half way through the season would be the end of December when we were in 10th place and with a **** tonne of injuries, and no one would predict us to finish 5th at that point. My 5th place bet was at the start. 8th would be a disappointment right now. FFS we could lose and still get 7th.

Well it's certainly always going to be odds against in the domestic competitions I feel. It's an outside chance as opposed to a strong chance. I've seen people not wanting to be in it, but I can guarantee they'll change their tune in the latter rounds and be buzzing if we win it.... and make no mistake Newcastle can win that.
