Thanks John for running it again, Shame I forgot the last game was an early kickoff still don’t fully understand the scoring, but enjoyed guessing the results
you understand the most important getting the right result... shame really not a lot in the final game scores you did get the minimum 26 Red squid had a poor day for him but did enough to maintain his lead, but second is no mean feat. I did comparison on scores when people do their "multiple week entries" v those that dont [ wait till just before the next game ] those that wait scored less points on average over the 30 weeks I averaged out. Mainly I suppose because they dont forget? there was some pretty erratic results this season though that caught a lot of us out!
Well done JGF another season comes and go and we start afresh with new expectations for 2024-2025. Lets hope they get the right quality in and get some of the dross gone.
I don’t like doing them in bulk, I’d rather leave it till nearer the game, and go by “gut feeling” on how teams are performing, personally can’t do that too far away from the game. Like you I was busy the last weekend, life took over. Much enjoyed the game over the season though which is much more important than the result, thanks again for running it.
And a belated thanks from me too John. Like Ashton Red , I usually leave forecasting until the night before the fixtures based on some misguided theory that the previous result have some bearing on the match to come….though judgement may have been clouded by a few glasses of wine by Friday evening at 10.0….. Thanks again John, and hoping to enter again next season by which time I might have got a grasp of some of the scoring.
I WILL RUN THROUGH IT bit by bit at some time.. it really is easy. ... FIRST TASK is predict the result say Bristol city versus Burnley and you PREDICT Bristol City 2 Burnley 1 the final result is either right or wrong CORRECT result is Bristol City 2 Burnley 1 so you get 1 point for the home win you get 3 points for the goals scored and it is the correct score so a bonus of 4 points total points is therefore 8...doubled if joker IF it finishes 3 -1 [ or any other home win score ] you get 1 point for home win plus the goals total so 3-1 would 1 pt homewin plus 4 pts for 4 goals equals total of 5 points. WRONG result for your forcast [ not a home win ] it finishes Bristol City 2 Burnley 3 all you get is 5 points for the goals
