Come on phil, you are talking about a Seria A club who have a lot more money than us, well certainly when we were a championship club.

Not according to their own fans Jager, according to them, the loan and pottential sale to Roma smacked of desperation for cash, which is a worry for Parma fans, and they have a well oversized squad (60 Players) with no less than 28 out on loan!..............

Wonder how long Graham will be out for? Mind we do have Lita and Moore!!......................

It just seems annoying that we have got such pacy wingers, yet when they get to the final 3rd theres only 1 player waiting for a cross, and when they are being marked by 2 centre halves, we have no chance. The service to our strikers is the main problem.
Villa frustrated us today, and it worked for them. Jazz was thrown in the deep end and didnt do very well, if Taylor had gone off to after that challenge, we would of been in deep crap. Villa kicked the crap out of us, and were lucky not to pick up more cards and a possible dismissal. Bore draw it was.
As for Borini, gutted hes not with us, but if a striker doesnt get service, hes not going to score, plus as Jager said, he was always on his way to Parma, whether he had not signed a contract or not. Maybe its nice to see a gentlemans agreement being honoured in this day and age. <ok>

Well funny things happen in football ,you never know what buck might turn up in january, the club may secure a top loan signing that will pull all the strings in the final 3rd and get us the goals/wins we need.

Not getting beat is a good thing, we rode our luck today,im hoping Caulker will come back into the team soon this will help the midfield push a bit further forward and we can maybe not shield gary monk so much.

That's a fair comment CRC, though I thought that Jazz did ok to be honest, with regard to your comment regarding gentleman's agreement, I quite agree with that, but unfortunately for Borini, Parma stitched him up, all they were after was a quick buck, the boy is very young but his agent should have sniffed out this move, and maybe, looked at Swansea too before putting pen to paper, according to the Parma fans who are gutted to lose Borini, he'll never go back to them. I just hope that Brendan Rodgers keeps in touch with the boy, as Ivor stated on another thread, he fitted in great with our setup, and loved it here, "and players remember that sort of thing" well said Ivor, too true!................

Sounds like Borini got the same agent as Trundle and robbo ;) !!

If that story is true then its hard going on the player, if Parma have such problems and he is being passed on to Roma then maybe there is a deal to be done for us. Problem is though we may well get stung for a big fee now, He could come around again for us .

Villa had far more people in the box than we did which is quite alarming when you think about it, having said that having leon, gower ,dyer and allen in there i dont see us out jumping many centre halfs ;)

It's very true Norway, just take a look at these comments from the Parma forum ..............

Would he ever go back to parma, very doubtful Norway, is he happy being played out of position on the wing at Roma, doubt it, does he figure that much for Roma, doesn't seem so, will he sign for them, big question here, see these two comments below, one from Parma, and one from a Roma fan!!..............

If I was Rodgers knowing all this, I wouldn't think twice given the way Parma and Roma, have dealt with him, getting stuck in, to turn his head in our direction, sorry but that's the way I feel!.............. <ok>

Back on topic .... Jazz did grow into game; not an easy assignment to come on cold and contain a speed merchant like Agbonlahor. He did a pretty tidy job. Lita also offered something else when he came on. I've said before that Graham does nothing for me receiving the ball at his feet outside the box; he just doesn't look a threat and has never really done anything closely resembling taking a strike on goal. Lita seems more mobile, has tremendous leap and just seems to hang in the air, and around the box he strikes me as somebody who can receive, sneak half a yard and take a pop on goal. If Grahamm is not fit for next week, I would have no problem seing Lita start the game.

Sinclair had another unremarkable day. Seemed to sleep for long periods and on a couple of occasions Hutton snuck away from him when Villa had the ball and got into good positions with Sinclair nowhere to be found. We need more from him; if he's not scoring he's got to be more energetic in hunting for the ball and crossing quality has to improve .... actually crossing of any quality would be an improvement.

Intresting comments DPJ, sounds like a mafia deal to me !! serious money being made of thiss players back, maybe his agent made him an offer he couldnt refuse??

I remember brenden stating in the press that he noticed Borini s head was down in training and he pulled him to one side and asked him what the problem was, thats when borini apparently told him about the deal, it all sounds a bit crazy TBH but there is obviuosly alot of cash in the cow that is fabio, its quite clear that his career is secondary to his agent, who only seems concerned with making money, same for parma ,who must be tied in very tightly with borinis agent otherwise fabio would have ended up at Roma or Swansea when he was up for contract.

It could be a slow burner for us,if fabio has fond memories and loses his way in Italy then we will be the perfect place to relight his career, providing we dont find another jem in the meantime,in which case its bye bye fabio!!

A shame to see great talent messed around, hope he keeps his focus

Sinclair does go missing ,what annoyed me more than anything was our wingers not pushing their full backs after they got booked,i thought it was common practice (always used to be) to keep on the player who is carrying a booking, Sinclair does flit in and out of games ,his body language doesnt look to great either, which is a concern.

He did get stronger towards the end of the game but we cant rely on one player to break the deadlock, there is just not enough goal threat when things get tight, mark gower passed instead of shot while 18yards out,the same for many others.

DG is doing ok but unless we play him the right way he is a waste up top, the guy works his socks off and tries 100% but he doesnt get the ball in the areas he wants, which brings me on to Lita.He seemed to know where that limited space was and had a trick or two which enabled him to steal a yard, unless graham gets the perfect pass he is limited in his actions ,lLita seems to be able to create that half yard that you need at this level.

A shame for DG, he is not being helped by our midfield but id be happy for Lita to have a go against Blackburn.

I'm sorry to go on about Borini lads, but I just can't get excited about Graham the same way, and I think that this is one of the reasons why we are so light in the final third, just check the video footage of our play-off campaign with Borini up front, we were a different team!..................

Dpj- Im sure brenden knows whats going on with him but it really does look like he is a cash cow for some shady people, its not the way you would expect one of Italy s bright young talents to be handled is it??

The player may well be happy back in Italy anyway, though he always stated that the prem was the place for him, which just makes me think he is in with the wrong people/agent!! get rid of his advisers/agent then there may be a chance, though he could well end up with a horses head in bed with him if he makes the wrong move!!

Fabio Borini, does he sleep with the fishes ??? in football terms he might.

DPJ- Its actually quite relevent, and all part of the football banter on here, we are talking about DG and Lita and it is hard not to think about Borini and what he could have brought to the table.
I think most fans agree we are light up top, finding that missing piece is the problem, looking at the way Lita and even Moore can control and swivel around the box makes you wonder if DG has that in his locker, we need somebody to create something when things are tight, and i think things are gonna be tight most of the time in this league !

A rabbit out of the hat is what we need, or sell Dyer for £8m play routledge wide and buy Borini and an attacking player to play in the hole ;)

There's a reason Chelsea didn't resign Borini. It wasn't cause the player couldn't cut it, because obviously he has the tools, nor because he has a bad attitude, because his attitude and energy are terrific. Could this be an Italian Tevez deal, where the agents "own" the talent and just shop him around. Chelsea knew something wasn't right or the way it should be.

Yankee- I tend agree with you there, it doesnt seem to be a normal transfer situation with borini, it all seems strange and a bit distorted, that fact he never told the swans he had signed for parma seemed a bit odd too, if you remember it all came out afterwards but it was real cloak and dagger stuff for some reason!!

As i said, a shame for the player if he is being messed around like that,he will never get those years back and i dont think he is in the kind of deal that he can just walk away from.

Yankee from my understanding from some of the Chelsea supporters, he was offered another contract, but didn't want to be stuck in their reserves, apparently he's quite ambitious, but the way I see it, he's entitled to be, with his talent!...............

Yes I remember that Norway, the only reason we got to know, now I come to think of it, was when Rodgers spotted him down in the dumps, and when Rodgers pushed him for a reason, it all came out!!..................

I think, and credit must go to him for this, that it was a case of Borini feeling he needed to keep his word. By all accounts he was a little down about it while training with the Swans, and I think he quite fancied the idea of playing in the Premiership with us...but he'd already agreed to go to Parma and that's that. I doubt anything was on paper, but he said he'd go, and that used to be good enough... and clearly still is for some people. Gutting for us, but good for him for not going back on his word.

what i understand is baroni had a verbal agreement with parma before he came to us on loan and he honoured it, he may have got more wages with them but at the end of the day he had made a promise, sadly it has gone pear shape as he was sent out on loan and he has not scored many goals. perhaps in hind sight he should have stayed with us but even that dont say we would be any better. he is worth a try if we can get him. we cant do any worse....
