A lot of what Clarke says is correct but a pointless argument. He’s comparing what was football in his day to some form of football manager now played by a bunch of hairdressers

Exactly my thoughts, depends on what era of rules the game is played in. Back in sniffer’s day we’d probably bury them. In the current day they’d probably win unless the game was abandoned because we’d have too many red carded

 

Some of what he says is saying we need players with balls

It's same as trying to compare tennis, rugby or goldf to 50 years ago. Pointless due to technology and money changing all sports. Imagine what Billy Bremner would think of being told to wear a bra so the coaches and sky could analyse how far he runs in a game. He'd simply tell them where to stick that nonsense. As for heavyweight boxing it’s definitely worse now than 50 years ago.

Still find myself wanting Fury to win, partly because he is a Brit and then I want to see him knock AJ out. Fury is actually looking very lean, he has trained hard for this, he’ll land some big body blows before knocking Usyk out before round 7. I think modern day football with sports science, nutrition and fitness has moved on leaps and bounds. A foul is a foul and you can’t get away from it, I think the Leeds team of the 70s would get pretty much stuffed if played today.
