Come off it rcl. When did I ever directly aim that comment at you? It was a general comment made as I was listening to the cheering in the stadium, reflecting on where we are as a club and the futility of the past 5 years. I specifically didn't direct it at anyone on here, precisely because I don't want things to get personal. They've got personal anyway as I am apparently "embarrassing", "not a Spurs fan" and "not alright". Can everyone just calm the **** down?
I get your point of view...just disagree and thought it was silly to chat about "small club mentality".
To lighten the mood a bit: Mikey Moore just set a new record for our youngest ever PL player at 16yrs, 9mths.
No mention of Chelsky ?? The PHENOMENON (Sugga Daddy FCs) is what is bad for football. The specific instance (Citeh) is not. "You've just chosen a different data sample. And the sample is flawed. We didn't get CL in 10/11 because our manager got distracted by the England job. We didn't get it in 11/12 because of a freak occurrence involving the absolute worst thing in football, Chelsea." 2010-11 was nothing to do with the England job (that was 2011-12 - so an error by you) . "12/13 you have a valid point. 13/14 we were crap. 14/15 we were rebuilding ..." Did not include 2013-14 (so another error by you) . Are you now a Citeh apologist ?? EVERY time they finished above Spurs in the seasons I stated, they by definition took a CL slot away from Spurs (which means they took away money, bargaining power on stellar players etc) .
Only for the banter. If Citeh not winning tonight would still keep the PL title fate in their own hands, more anger would have been directed at Spurs for the pedestrian game.
Not sure what Ange is getting at tbh. We played well and could have won on another day. The fans enjoying the fact that it means that Arsenal don’t win the league is surely understandable. Makes me think he doesn’t get the rivalry which is strange given he was the Celtic manager. If rangers had been challenging more when he was there he would have seen the same if not worse. He’s a lot responsible of why we are in this situation anyway so he needs to get over it.
I thought that was the best you played for a wee while, tbh. Son would have buried that chance 9 times out of 10 and this would be a totally different board tonight. I think Ange has just had a pop at your fans when he was talking about the fragility inside and OUTSIDE the club this week. I thought your fans would have been openly supporting City tonight and celebrating their goals inside the stadium. I would have rocked up at the SOL with a City shirt on tonight if Newcastle were going for the league and I’d have been dancing in the stands every time they scored.
If he were still managing Celtic and Rangers were in Arsenal’s position, he’d have received death threats in the mail telling him to throw the game or else. They probably would’ve tried to hold his family hostage or something as well. I’d say we’re one of the most hate-fuelled derbies in Europe yet we’re child’s play to what their rivalry is. Same goes for Fener-Gala or Boca-River. Bloke clearly has no ****ing idea what rivalry means to fans.
Citeh were quite nervy today, which is not a surprise as Spurs have the measure of their normal game (which WUMs Pep immensely) . All some of us wanted was to ensure that if Citeh won, they would have to work for it and Spurs would have put in the same effort in every game played this season against the tile candidates (IMHO this has been the case - no favours etc) .
The fact we have fallen off a cliff and are in this position in the first place, he has to take responsibility for. Blaming the fans for revelling in their greatest rivals failure will do him no favours. None of us wanted this game to have the potential outcome of it meaning Arsenal could win the league. If we hadn’t been so abject the last month or so, he wouldn’t have had to witness any of this..
He needs to be careful with he says too because he hasn’t earned enough grace to be in a position where he thinks he can slag his own fans off. He’s had a just about above average first season, that’s it, and as you’ve said a lot is on him for the dour results in the last batch of games plus the patchy football we’ve had since December. Work on your own game and tactics, pal. Leave the rivalry chat to us.
