    Btw it’s not over yet.

Final day drama could still see the goons win the title.

The potential bonus of the Europa League is it allows us to blood some youngsters

Obviously we don't want a repeat of Nuno chucking the U21 team into games at random intervals, but there's certainly opportunities to give the likes of Donley, Lankshere, Santiago et al reasonable minutes in the early stages that the CL wouldn't offer given how cutthroat it is, which also gets them onto the right wavelength for cup games too

I thought Porro got the ball for the penalty.

I think it’s time for Son to leave.

Tonight’s result was inevitable and as much as I wanted spurs to win, I can tolerate this loss for obvious reasons.

tonight was a case of the motivation being stronger for Man City than us. They only scored one goal from open play.

Can’t believe ortega got MoM but I can’t really see who else deserved it.

It would be great to qualify from the group and then blood some of the youngsters. We have a fantastic crop coming through and they deserve a chance to show what they can do

    It would have been unbearable

Never like to see Spurs lose but tonight’s defeat isn’t one that hurts.

Son is still easily Spurs best attacking player though. How much would it cost to replace him?

To be brutal, IMHO this is embarrassing for you.
The 4 in a row record etc is of no consequence.

What IS of consequence to me as a Spurs supporter,
is that for FOUR seasons between 2010-11 to 2014-15,
their Sugga Daddy antics cost Spurs four seasons in the CL.

Appearances that may have kept Bale and Modric,
Money that may have got the ball rolling much sooner on
    the new WHL build.

The effects today to them lot are utterly insignificant in comparison.

As we seem to be moving Donley into an AM for the U21s, having him as Maddison's understudy works well both to sub him on if a match is dusted with ten minutes to go, or start him in a dead rubber or two

A double sub of Donley & Lankshere to replicate their U21 pairing for ten minutes is something that could work out well

    Calm it down.

No need for the personal jibes and petulance.

    You're not alone in this.

A forum is a platform for diverse opinions. Those opinions don't need to be introduced with personal attacks.

What's funnier is that you seem to be agreeing with my main point which is that City are terrible for football.

You've just chosen a different data sample. And the sample is flawed. We didn't get CL in 10/11 because our manager got distracted by the England job. We didn't get it in 11/12 because of a freak occurrence involving the absolute worst thing in football, Chelsea. 12/13 you have a valid point. 13/14 we were crap. 14/15 we were rebuilding.

Not sure what any of that has to do with City. We'd been selling our best players to bigger clubs long before they became state funded. If anything it was Chelsea who first unsettled Modric, not City.

Is he though? I can’t recall the last outstanding performance from him but I appreciate he needs to be on the wing. Hopefully that will be the case next season.

    100% agree.

He’s got 26 goal contributions in 34 league games this season. If he’s in a perceived decline, then that decline is still better than the majority of forward’s best seasons.

Like I just said on the transfer thread, I feel our fans set unnecessary high bars for our best players yet painfully low ones for our poor ones. I also feel some look at it from the wrong POV, we should never - ever - sell a key player but instead sign more players to ensure that player isn’t the only key player, do that and you get a higher chance of success.

Yeah, my 12 year old said it was definitely a penalty. But I’m pretty sure he got the ball but maybe I need to see it from a different angle.

Football was lost back in the 80s, when the Premier league was being planned at we were right there at the forefront of it. We lost our second most successful manager in our history after he won two fa cups, got us to league cup final, a euro semi final and won us a uefa cup in his last match...all in 3 years. He left saying " there used to be a football club there" commenting on how we were being badly run as a business.
The premier league is at fault, those running football in England, uefa and fifa are at fault but fans ain't.

Sorry but I've been a fan since 74. Been going to the lane since 81. Both my girls are spurs. We go as often as possible and tbh being told I have a "small club mentality" is plain insulting.

There are 4 gooners in my work place. Am I gonna rinse them tomorrow... betcha ass I am.

Football adds a laugh, excitement and escape for me from a very ****ed up world, and, at times life.

I don't judge any fans on how often they go, if they've ever been or if they'd prefer arsenal to win the title. Each to their own and all that.
