If I go thru all the match threads since the 4-0 at Villa, will it show us how much you "care" about the performances since then ??
Despite conceding twice, Dragusin was class tonight, don’t think he put a foot wrong. Hope we get to see more of him, though it’s genuinely hard to gauge if he’ll definitely remain here for next season. Had a very raw deal since joining.
I think I already quoted it, but WindyCOYS compared him to a right-sided Mickey Van - meaning we need a left-sided Romero and we're off to the races
He’ll have plenty more chances next season as we’ll likely have Europa to deal with. I think he showed up well tonight. Some decent moments on the ball and defensively.
I think he’s actually a bit of a hybrid of the other two CBs in that he’s not a slouch (albeit nowhere near as quick as Micky) and he’s quite aggressive like Romero. I do really hope we can keep him and provide him more chances.
CK I respect your opinion and you are a great poster, but I just hate Arsenal that much!!! Any other team, except Chelsea and West Ham (but let’s be realistic) I would be right with you on the point you are making
Totally agree. Where the hell has that performance been for the past two months? And they left it for the one game that most fans didn't want to win!
We as fans can not change that...unless we all boycott going to games but that'll never happen. What we can do is laugh at our rivals. I am probably gonna sound harsh but telling people that are bantering our closest rivals that they are showing small club mentality is football snobbery. Levy wants to win a trophy at all costs and that's what gave us the 4 years of winning managers deliver ****e football. Every fan wants to see us win a trophy...but if some of us wanna laugh at the gooners so what? That has no impact on what happens on the pitch whatsoever.
We don’t know that for sure yet. Ange may take Europa seriously (which I hope) and stick with the main two if they’re fit. There’s been plenty of opportunities for him to have had more game time this season though for him to feel like he’s a proper part of the squad, whether off the bench or when Emerson and Skipp have been given starts yet he’s been overlooked. Considering he had an offer on the table from Bayern, you have to wonder if he feels like he’s made a mistake. If you believe Alan Nixon’s piece the other day, Napoli are apparently interested in him for the summer.
I'd say a team spending two seasons pretending they don't have a rapist in their team also counts as "Football loses"
I'm fine with that and I've said many times before I totally understand why plenty of fans wanted to lose tonight. I was at the Lane in 2004 when that lot won it, trust me I know what that pain feels like! But I do think this whole issue has opened up a wider conversation which is linked to the 4 in a row record and the 115 charges hovering over City's head, and it has been interesting reading the different opinions on here when those elements are brought into the conversation. I know I'm not alone on here with my outlandish opinions.
Europa league is probably right for where we are as a club right now. Of course we all want champions league but this should help us build a squad that can then go on to that level. Look at leverkusen and how they have performed this year. That shows what can be done if you believe in the process.
Back in UEFA land, so squad rotation + Christmas melee means he will get plenty of game time next season, Unless of course the manager had nothing to do with his signing, does not play him etc (note to the manager : you know how this will end for you) ...
I'd love us to try a back 3 again with Porro and Udogie playing as proper wing backs. I'm not sure Ange would ever go for it as he wants his FBs to advance more centrally, but a defence of Romero, Dragusin and Micky has a really tasty balance of pace, control, aggression and dominance and also lessens our reliance on unhelpful CMs to be helpful.
That’s how every Spurs fan should view it. Football’s beauty and passion is largely based on footballing rivalry, especially local derbies. As a Spurs fan I’ve been brought up with the idea of essentially “anyone but Arsenal” and that’ll remain til my last breath, it’ll be vice-versa for that lot. When I told Pinks the other week on the Prem board that some on here genuinely preferred them to win the league over City he was as shocked as I was.
This is what make this forum the best, that we can all have our own opinions. It’s not necessarily I’m right and you are wrong or vice versa. Anyway moving on, nive to see Laura woods the gooner have to suck it up!
