Some very binary views on here. You can play with more intent than Rosieball without it becoming route 1 hoofball. Nothing wrong with building from the back, trying to beat the press etc, but it has to come with also knowing when to become more direct, like when you have beaten the press!

Anyone seen the interview by Tan in the fail today, wonder what turned “toxic”

So in theory, that could be the edge of the opposition’s area, for example during a free kick? At some point it has to stop being considered the back.

you seem to get the basics wrong
22 players wont be compressed because the goalkeeper will be taking the goal kick
the other 21 will have an average of 340 square yards to themselves
    I dont call that 'compressed'
players will be moving around and creating even more space
the problem with people like you is that you dont try to understand anything
you just repeat what you have heard

Would absolutely love us to have that as one of our chants. It's something we can all chant and it's a proper crowd raiser.

As long as the left outweighs the right then I'm not fussed!

it looks like that if you were a manager your teams would be susceptible to breakaways

It’s a weird claim as they also say the parting was friendly and mutual. Toxic relationships rarely end mutually and peacefully in my experience.

It irks me somewhat that Tan and Acun have been so aggressive with the press appearances, as it comes across like they want to control the narrative. Acun is a PR machine, so he knows how it all works. From what I’m aware of, it doesn’t seem like Rosie has put out a statement at all. It might be all fine and dandy as they say, but it would still be interesting to hear his side too.

"We lost too many points at home and then it became a problem, it became toxic. We needed to change the mentality of our players and of our coaching style."
it can be read more than one way

True, but it also needs pointing out that Walter's Hamburg side had 8 clean sheets in his 21 league games, of those only 6 were defeats and that during that period not once did they go a match without scoring. They scored 43 goals in that period and conceded 29. 37 points on the board and were in third place.

If you doubled that record to 42 games (I know our season is 46 but they only play 36 because there's only 18 teams in 2. Bundesliga so it's a happy medium. Leave me alone.) you'd end up with 16 clean sheets in 42, 12 defeats and a lot of goals.

If we look at the Championship, if we had the kind of season he did at Hamburg, we'd have finished in the playoffs, especially as I counted 4 games less than we would play.

In the first 21 games of our season, we scored 31 goals and let in 25. So Walter's side scored a lot more and conceded only four more goals than we did. We failed to score in three of those games (Leeds, Ipswich and QPR.)

Honestly, I don't think it's going to be a lot more gung ho and circa 2008 Peterborough style football than we have seen under Rosenior. I think we'll score more, but I can't see us conceding a lot less.

Plus, our team is better than Hamburg's.

are you seriously accusing me of regularly not explaining sufficiently?
"I think a lot of people will be surprised by our new manager if they believe what has been said on here"
I just think he'll manage in such a way to suit the Championship - not how he has managed in the German second tier. A lot of people are acting like once a manager does one thing they will never change.

Even if LR did put out a statement, it would be boilerplate guff, thanking the fans etc. I suspect he'll be under some form of NDA, at least while they're still paying him a wage, if not for longer.

Because work is quiet right now I’ll do the maths

Walter’s Hamburg record over 46 games

81 points (good for 5th place)
94 goals (good for 1st in championship)
59 goals conceded (good for 8th best defence)

For what it’s worth I’d take that Benes in a heartbeat from Hamburg

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't players usually post some type of thanks or farewell in these circumstances? I was surprised not to see anything but perhaps I'm wrong in thinking it usually happens.
