He had me at “tireless pressing and incisive passing when they do have possession”

Think Still was first choice seen as we were after him at Xmas, but I hope it's Svensson tbh.

Think his style would suit us. We would be looking to dominate 75% of teams in the league imo and he'd play 3-4-1-2 against them. 2 up top (I know, I know) with a high pressing, in your face team. Sounds good to me.

Not sure if this is relevant, but his original contract was due to end this summer from Mainz. Would this affect the appointment? Still getting a severence pay etc. Also noticed one of his long term assistants is at Bayern now. Maybe we're negotiating for him?

Svensson averaged 1.38 ppg, which is more than Klopp had there and only a fanny's hair behind Tuchel. Bare in mind he didn't win any of his last 9 either!!! Not too shabby.

Hope it's him now. We'll still get fans saying it's the cheap option as he's out of work and we should've appointed Still even though imo Svensson is a higher calibre candidate.

    Probably won't happen now :azn:<doh>

We need tireless pressing, folk have talked about the atmosphere not being great at home but we know we react well when the team is pressing high

Arsenal are great at doing it at the minute, they just dont give teams a minutes peace. With a young squad thats how we should be playing - front foot football

I’d be happy with any of the 3 current rumored candidates however Svensson would be my preference. His track record is impressive and i think we as a fanbase would really enjoy the high intensity style.

We did this brilliantly with Ross Stewart leading the line!

I've said it so many times but he was tireless with pressing the opposition and it always seem to spur the others on to see him at the back 4 straight away! The most effective part of his game and what we miss the most! He also to quote that mag in a phone on years ago "scored so many goals:emoticon-0106-cryin"

Stewart was class at that, always pressed from the front

When a good coach can get the team pressing as 1 its great to see and the fans feed off that

Spot on, our fans love it. Constantly roar encouragement when we’re hassling the opposition.

This is what I find strange as we used to do it - and watching the u21/u18 teams they seem to do it and successfully to.

Probably a combination of things, we had 'managers' in beale n dodds who were afraid to lose (or at least it seemed that way) so preffered us to be rigit out of possession

I also think poor recruitment impacted our ability to press from the front - we had stewart and then gelhardt last season who would both run none stop for the team, this yr we only had rusyn n he wasnt used enough

Im excited about this appointment, feel its massive for the KLD era so can see why hes taken his time - needs to nail it

It's why he is right up there in my estimations as one of the best strikers I've seen play for the lads!

Might have been a few more skilled, more talented etc... but none could beat him kn workrate and only a few could match it!

I'm going to listen to some break up songs now! <laugh>

Don’t worry about that mate just keep on fighting, life can be pretty brutal at times. Recognising your going through a rough patch, and admitting you’re struggling is a great start to getting through it.

Overall we’re a friendly bunch on here and I’m certain the majority of us will be willing to chat if you needed someone to talk to.

Yeah mate, i get frustrated in feeling the way i do sometimes and i feel weak so my natural instinct is to lash out at anyone that crosses my path, its a big problem i need to deal with and a worry because I want my lads to grow up and be proud of me but when i dont have them being single and alone can be hard and i can become a loose cannon sometimes
