That’s spooky I saw Archers reply and looked back to see which pub you were talking about as it reminded me of a pint of lager I got for 17p … in the Grantham … in 1974 I was on my way to the School Disco at Barton Peveril. They served us all - No questions
I don’t really mind how he sets the team up. More often than not we dominate early on. It is what he does later that the jury is still out on.
He should pick 11 players, one of whom should be a goalkeeper. There…presented you with the full breadth of my knowledge re team selection.
Only just seen this SC and although many will say that Eastleigh and decent shouldn't be in the same sentence, I don't think it's as bad as all that. I've had a look and there seems to be surprisingly few pubs where you can see the game. The Grantham mentioned above doesn't look like it has Sky but there are four quite close to the town centre that do. The Chamberlayne on the corner of Blenheim Rd and the High Street behind the Swan Centre. Looks ok from outside but can't remember ever going there. https://www.chamberlayneeastleighpu...ce=1_MTQ0NTMxMjItNzE1LWxvY2F0aW9uLndlYnNpdGU= Two in the High Street in front of the Swan Centre, The Spitfire and The Station are only a few yards apart. Both are relatively modern but not too sure about the clientele, there always seems to be some dodgy looking characters having a smoke by the entrance. Been in one but it was so long ago I can't remember which one. https://www.greatukpubs.co.uk/stati...=gmb&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=homepage https://www.craftunionpubs.com/the-spitfire-eastleigh The Good Companions is a very short walk away along Leigh Road. This one looks OK from the outside but again I've never been inside this one either. https://goodcompanionseastleigh.co.uk/ Sorry I can't give a more detailed review but I don't drink. Maybe not the best person to answer this but I live only about 5 miles away so felt duty bound to big up the stunning metropolis of Eastleigh.
Out of those I would say: 1) Good Companions 2) Chamberlayne 3) Don't bother with the other two Although if the Steam Town Brewery is showing the game then definitely go there
Thinking about it this season no team selection has been horrendous, IF the bloody strikers had converted their chances. Every game we have moaned about, if we had actually put away the sitters, it wouldn’t have mattered.
I didn't think they did but @Ronnie Hotdog (MLsfc) said earlier in the thread that he thought they sometimes showed sport so they might. I would start there in any case as it's easily the best place in Eastleigh for drinks and the food is decent as well, then if they are showing the game it's a bonus. If not then it isn't far to walk down to the Good Companions from there
I seem to recall the brown ale was 14 pence. As lager was more exotic in those days and hence more expensive, that would have been about right!
You are not first person to have expressed that view, and will not be the last. Born there so it has a place in my heart. When l am home in Romsey, l do go over on occasion, but l realised many years ago l feel no strong affinity to the place.
I am now going to this ……got to sit on my hands as I will be in the home end( boss is a West Brom ST holder) £30 for the ticket.
Seems less likely Che starts this game, purely based on the lack of images during the week in the training pics/vid. I'd go; Macca; THB, Bednarek, Stephens; KWP, Smallbone, Downes, Manning; Aribo; Arma, Sulemana.
Our old friend Lawro has teed us up nicely. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/m...ediction-west-brom-leeds-southampton-norwich/
