You just sparked a memory with that. We started calling him Fu Kinnell, probably because he replaced Charlie Hurley rather than him being ****e
Serious question, absolutely not a dig at anybody. Has any reputable journalist actually linked us with Still or Maric yet this time around? I know several did back in December with Still. But have any this time, other than to repeat we were interested last time? I only ask because its so impressive (I think) how quiet the media is around our appointment. We are either doing nothing or keeping everything so quiet its untrue
The days of journalists being reliable sources of info from the club are long gone. Almost everything the club do is kept firmly under wraps now. And there's no chance we're doing nothing so it has to be the latter surely?
I’m interviewing today for the love of good Christ and I just want to sit refreshing ! Whyyyyyyyyyyy!?
Yes, I got that wrong - Alan Brown left in 1964, replaced by George Hardwick who left under a cloud in 1965 (some scandal about him and an SAFC directors wife was the rumour at the time) and then in came Ian McColl, who managed from 1965 until 1968 when he was replaced by Alan Brown who stayed as manager until 1972. I still have a recollection of headlines in the Evening Chronicle of the manager ( who I erroneously thought was Brown) being sacked and immediately replaced by McColl. You are correct re: the signing of Jim Baxter and George Kinnell, (I had forgotten about him) whose debut I think was the Newcastle Derby game at Syd James Park where he completely subdued the toon’s debutant CF, Wyn Davies. Good to banter with you, take care.
Guinness Guzzler over RTG has said he doesn’t think it’s tripe that an ITK has said there’s an announcement imminent, is he reputable? Yes I have also reach peak boredom
