I don't know but I don't see him fending them off so he can manage England. If we're talking about available jobs then the England job isn't one of them. If it's just hypothetical then anyone could sack their manager at any time.
I can recall Alan Brown leaving and Ian McColl being appointed on the same day, think McColl brought Jim Baxter to Sunderland at the same time too. Age and memory recall not on my side now so I stand to be corrected
My recollection is that Alan Brown left well before Ian McColl was appointed....don't think it was the same day. McColl did sign Slim Jim for us....he knew him from Rangers and Scotland teams. He also then signed George Kinnell who was Jim Baxter's cousin, and then played him as centre half instead of King Charles, which led a lot of people to think there was some kind of sectarianism going on. I'm not sure about that, but although Kinnell was a good player, Charlie was the man. I think I'm right in saying that McColl introduced a young Colin Todd into the side a season or two after. That was a half back line....Todd,Hurley Baxter.
Got a message off someone last night saying announcement could be imminent. No name. The lad who gave the info is the type that would hear things off various sources put it that way.
to be honest i really thought it was going to be yesterday, would of been a good time, with the fan meeting on, but i've got a feeling some of the people from that meeting have been giving a heads up
I've kinda lost track though, why do we think its imminent? I'm only paying 50% attention this morning and now I'm going to be refreshing all day
if it's any plus, the RWA bloke replied to someone who was taking the piss out of someone for saying "Will still will be announced tomorrow" with "I'm not so sure it's tripe this time"
