Think he is here till we get to the premiership and try to get into europe then club is sold for a lot of money, ultimately i think he wants to own a bigger club in Turkey, Maribor will probably be his quick fix into European competition which he obviously craves.
Some of you live in la la land if you think Delaps improvement this season is down to our coaching staff.
He should indeed. My nephew, who lives in Germany said that he was sacked by Hamburg In February after a string of bad results. Sounds familiar? There’s a reason why he’s been unemployed since. As a poster said the second tier is pretty crap in Germany. Surely the recruitment team are aware of this. I must admit I trusted Acun but now I’m not so sure. This appointment, if it goes ahead could be a disaster. I hope I’m proved wrong
February isnt a good time to get manager's jobs. I would expect February sacked managers to wait until the close season.
of course I dont know for certain but it makes complete sense. Look at many reports of contract clauses after sackings. Do you remember David Moyes at Manchester United? I'm not going to go by somebody who made it up that Liam's sacking was a complete shock to him after the information that came out later.
You made it up. FACT. You also have absolutely no idea whether Rosenior was expecting to be sacked or not, I've seen nothing to suggest that he wasn't expecting to be in charge next season, but presumably he'll issue a statement at some point soon and we'll get to find out.
Acun seems like a man that gets new ideas and pivots all the time, and the simplest explanation is that is Acun simply changed his mind – as he claims – making it a shock to Liam. It doesn’t have to be more complicated.
The David Moyes one didn't say he'd be sacked, just they didn't have to pay him as much if they did sack him. Don't think anyone would sign a contract that they'll be ****canned if they miss out on top 6... Whilst being 6th.
Oddschecker finally have Walter listed at 4/6. Rohl out to 10-1. Will Still at 4/1, Cooper also out to 10-1. 2 horse race perhaps with Walter still in the driving seat.
Baz Cooper said Liam knew the writing was on the wall I used my common sense You used your usual inadequate understanding
Yeah, that is odd and contradictory. Acun’s making out like if FFP wasn’t a thing, he’d be writing us a blank cheque for transfers. But academy and stadium infrastructure is exempt from FFP so if this is his attitude, there should be a blank cheque for that instead. Then Tan says investment in infrastructure would mean diverting funds away from our transfer budget. Why?
I don’t have a problem with Acun buying Maribor. That is his money, not Hull City’s money, as far as I’m concerned. I do think that if Acun is serious about making us an established Premier League club, he should focus on investing in and updating our infrastructure because it really is quite piss-poor in comparison to other teams at this level.
Of course the contract didnt commit United to sacking him! The contract enabled United to sack him without paying him the remaining 5 years on his contract. Any owner who doesnt insist on performance related clauses in contracts is asking for trouble in Liam's case I think the type of football played was more the reason why he was sacked. All the people who say the next manager will be sacked if they dont achieve top six in the first season are wrong
Bet they are not wrong, if you think now that this is a plan in progress think again he wants premiership now not in 2 years.
A lot of people on here are saying that if they’d given a manger as much money and support Acun had given Liam in January they’d give him the sack, which Acun did. Acun himself even said that things changed after January. If the January investments were enough for him to change his mind on Liam just missing out, he’s not going to settle for less if he bankrolls another manager with several million pounds again this summer. I know Acun has said in interviews it was Rosie’s style, but I think that’s only part of the picture, and mostly PR spin. Think of it this way: if Liam spent £10m and the new manager spends £10m this summer, Acun will want to see a return because he’s now down £20m. Even Acun admits he doesn’t like to fail.
