Watched both series of The Responder in the last few days and was really impressed. Lived a couple of years in Liverpool many years ago and this captures a lot of the city. Some fabulous characters and storylines and the best performance from Martin Freeman I’ve ever seen (& didn’t expect). The last few scenes at the end of series 2 were superb including one from actress Adelayo Adedayo reporting a crime which I have to rewatch for its simplicity and effectiveness.
Martin freeman has def grown into a top actor But i cant think of any worse place to live in england than liverpool Awful place
Haha, knew you'd bite. Rent free, you say? I live in Manchester mate. Where for some the rent is most definitely not free. It's an amazing place to live though. I'm particularly looking forward to Europe's largest Waterpark being built 10 minutes from my house.
Another place I would not want to live. Very few large conurbations I would like to live in. One or two cities in Europe I wouldn’t mind but none in this country,
Have lived and, worked in Leeds, Birmingham and Hull. Wouldn’t left Hull but a transfer virtually doubled my earnings. Ghent, Amsterdam, Valencia, Lisbon, Munich and Cologne are cities I wouldn’t have minded living in but down the last 40 or 50 years most have changed and not for the better. The one that has gone to other way is Rotterdam which is a more attractive proposition than it was years ago.
Cool. Always fancied going to Cologne. I've enjoyed living in Liverpool then Manchester since the 90's. Music has always been a major passion and there's few places worldwide that have experienced a scene like they have over the last 50 plus years.
I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Cologne and other cities along the Rhine over the years. Well worth a visit in my opinion.
I think Freeman is a really good actor but after two episodes I stopped watching because the scouse accents was driving me crazy. I couldn't concentrate on the story lines because I was cringing at the accents.
It's more to do with the crowd trouble leading upto opening the gates and those who didn't have tickets, it's worth a watch.
Plus one for liking 'Kin'. Excellent script with incredibly nuanced performances. It seems to have taken a lot from 'Gomorrah', minus the cheese. I'm impressed so far!
