The thing is there were obvious cracks in the Acun/Rosie relationship that I didn’t really recognise at the time. Thinking back now I’m pretty certain that Acun was as bored as many of us with the continual passing around in our defensive third, however in December as we were still in a play off position he probably thought we’re doing ok, let’s add some attacking reinforcements plus a keeper that can actually save shots, rather than just play well with his passing ability. For Rosie not to include Pandur in the first eleven whilst we had a chance of finishing in the play offs, I get that, I understand. What I absolutely don’t understand is why Pandur dropped completely out of the match day squad with Matt Ingram coming back onto the bench. If I was Acun, personally I would have seen that as a ‘**** you, I’ll select who I want’. Or am I wrong on that?
Just watched the first 30 mins of Hamburg vs Eintracht Braunschweig earlier this season. Play a very high line, aggressive all over the pitch, some good, neat passing in the final third. Seems to like two fast wingers and a technical centre-forward, a ball-winning defensive mid and two numbers 8s in midfield who like to roam around and get forward. I think this football is perfectly suited to Ömür and Tufan in a midfield three with a holding mid just behind them.
I just hope we don't get relegated, Birmingham-style, and once more become the laughing stock of English football
Rosie was keen on improving player fitness to cope with constant pressing, so you’d hope we’re at a much better starting point than other teams in that regard.
I think you predicted 1 win all season and that’s the game we lost. I wouldn’t worry too much in your World we are bottom on National League North.
So a bloke who hasn’t achieved anything of significance in a league which is inferior to the one we play in, and who has been sacked twice for his underachievement, is the right chap for us because he adopts a gung ho, you score four we’ll score five attitude, throwing caution to the wind and employs his goalkeeper as a centre half? There’ll be tears.
Is it too late for me to apply? Admittedly I don’t really understand the game, but I can shout Attack…Attack..,Attack Attack Attack on the touchline for 90mins which should do the trick.
