Liam’s this season was about 2.7. 128 goals in 46 games. I’m just going quick maths while working so unsure on including his full tenure
You said the sentence was bizarre. In isolation. You disagree? Or just don't think it relates to us? I was making a general point.
To be fair German 2nd div plays 12 less games than champ Which is also a worry As 12 games is huge His style of football i worry wont work here
I've just seen everyone saying his is all out attack and concedes a lot as well - reminded me of Shota and that never filled me with any sort of confidence!
Hamburg scored in every game he managed this season. They also lost a fair few. Depends if promotion or entertainment is the aim.
3.27 goals per game is combining goals both for and against, from what I can tell. 1.95 goals per game, for, and 1.32, against. Rosie’s goals per game, for, is around 1.27. Goals against, 1.05.
Shota’s CV was dreadful with no real success in Turkey and only some league titles with the biggest team in Uzbekistan.
I watched the first half hour of Hamburg’s opening game against Schalke this season when the won 5-3. They build from the back and like to dominate possession but do it a bit different from Rosenior’s method. Whereas Allsop usually stays in his box and distributes to the centre-backs or Seri if he drops deep, the Hamburg goalkeeper likes to bring the ball out of his box and the whole back four are constantly rotating and showing for the ball. In the build-up, the right centre-back and right-back often rotate with each other and the same is on the left side, so the full-backs could drift inside and the centre-backs go wider. The whole back four look confident in dropping the shoulder on the half-turn and carrying the ball forward. Greaves is quite good at this. I’m less confident of Jones or McLoughlin doing it.
Why not? Wagner and Rohl have similar levels of experience. It’s a good quality of football as they play in the German lower leagues
If entertainment was the answer he could simply put a video of Hamburg’s flaccid attempts at promotion on the big screens.
yeah I watched the same game. It’s Rosenior on heroin. I think he’d actually end up liking Allsop as well unless he brought in his own GK
It looks more progressive than Rosenior’s football. We’re 1st for touches in our own third this season. In that Hamburg game, they don’t just pass the ball around the back four for the sake of it but when the space is there the back four either look to pass forward or carry it forward.
Kind of but at the same time there are serious clubs down there looking to compete and do. It’s akin to prem u21s going into the EFL trophy. It is still sometimes grown men against boys
Junior spoke to someone who covers Hamburg (and is also a fan) yesterday. When the team go forward, the keeper moves into the space between the two centre backs to form a back three. He also plays with a holding midfielder and the full backs are basically playing as wingers for most of the game. We're certainly likely to see the attacking football Acun craves if he's appointed, we're also likely to see a lot of goals at both ends of the pitch.
