The instant gratification attention deficit culture in football is pretty juvenile. It's why, while I despise them as a club, I love that Arsenal stuck with Arteta and are seeing the benefits of a young side developing with a clear philosophy despite two 8th placed finishes. Arteta started with sorting their defence, then developing attacking play, and then surged up the table..
He went to Vitesse (rejecting our contract offer) and then returned to us on a 4 month deal which seemed strange
I was miffed about it But its been two days and its done Hes gone and theres nothing we can do about it We move on for better or for worse
Not sure of this guy's clout, but: https://x.com/marshyleeds/status/1788491414600372650 and the German Sky article he must be referencing: https://sport.sky.de/fussball/artik...hl-neuer-trainer-bei-hull-city/13131793/35311
Some fans perspective of him: 'The last two years we have seen one of the most entertaining Hamburg side in recent memory and he had the team and the fans behind him more than any other Hamburg coach in the 2nd league' https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1aovgre/hamburger_sv_sack_coach_tim_walter/
That same paragraph talks about Hoping the next manager has the defensive stability needed for promotion Walter is reverse steve bruce But hes failed 3 times to get promotion
A city the size of Hamburg should have a top top European team...Never knew what happened there that a club like that could end up in the German equivalent of the Chump. Amazing when you consider its the second biggest city in the whole of Germany with a population touching about 3 million.
I don't really give a ****. I'll give a view in four months when I've seen him take charge of some games.
For anyone interested, sky sports have full hamburg matches on YouTube. Having watched the first 5 minutes of one match, things that stand out are the team sits much higher, the GK comes out even further than Allsopp but plays simpler passes and the team look to get forward much quicker, hitting spaces to run on to as opposed to mostly always to feet as we saw with LR. I initially felt Philogene would be more difficult to replace than Greaves but looking at the way Hamburg played (prior to the sacking in Feb) I'm changing my tune.
