I just feel with what’s provided and how we’ve dealt with the big moments this season it seems clear to me a change is needed, a major overhaul is needed anyway and it couldn’t be achieved with some brilliant players, he’s probably thinking well we won’t get Fabio/Morton/Delap again so maybe a change of tact is required.
It was interesting to hear Acun say he’ll never sell players for big money unless they go to him and ask to leave first. Specifically referring to Greaves and Philogene.
I’m hoping the bits about how fans shouldn’t protest because they don’t know what’s good for the club is just down to language. “You don’t know what is good for the club…we know more details than the fans for being inside the club” “No matter if they agree or not, they should always be backing us to make us feel motivated” Two quotes in particular I hope are just a mistake.
it’s bollocks…he’s just trying to play hard ball & get a decent price . Standard commercial tactics …naive as ****kk if you believe that x
When do we start to question Acun and Tan Kessler? They sacked McCann after beating two of the top three and employed Shota wasn't any better. They then had a manic 2022 summer transfer window and signed 16 players. Only Tufan and Seri have played regularly this season. They took two months to employ Rosenior and than sack after a good season. They've also left with 12 players and 7 are from our league 1 squad.
I agree. Everyone I know in real life that goes regularly are a bit bewildered. Weve been talking all season about how much we’ve been enjoying it, bar the odd game here and there. It has been interesting to hear different thoughts on here.
Sky reported Acun said this:"We have to work hard and what we are doing at the moment is that. I'm in Monaco at the moment, meeting people here and we are working 24 hours to find the best choice for the club". I infer from that, that he is meeting candidates in Monaco". Would I be correct? He also said that he prefers a German or Spanish coach so that eliminates Cooper and Still. And a few others.
If that is a 'good season' I'd hate to know what a bad season is like. It's been said plenty of times: he got us to 6th in the new year, signed good players in January and ended up 7th. More importantly the performances were largely terrible and Acun was worried that people would stop going if they kept the ponderous play
I dont suppose he will see all potential managers in Monaco It seems strange to prefer certain nationalitiies. He can admire certain nationalities traits but those traits can be found in any nationality
It was our highest finish in the Championship since 2016. Our previous three seasons in the Championship we'd finish 15th, 17th and 24th. We overachieved our budget. Yes there was games we should won especially at home. But it was huge progress.
Every opportunity to take the pettiest swipe at the owner just because he has an ambition to own a team that plays exciting football, and believes LR has been given more than a fair shout to deliver what he clearly couldn’t
More meat on those bones in the RH interview. Basically saying he felt certain football backgrounds suited the league better and that he wouldn't consider another Turkish coach for this reason. Name checked Bulut at Cardiff as a friend but basically ruled him out as a candidate. Think I've heard him say elsewhere that Spanish and German coaches tended to do well in England.
