I'm going to be pedantic, but say we lost every home game next season in a 5-4 thriller, would you be happy?
I obviously don’t want us to lose every single home game no. I’d 100% take a few 5-4 losses than watching us lose 1-0 and not get out of our own half like this year though.
I think all signings should be club signings. Whats the point of having a recruitment team if you are going to ignore them and leave transfer decisons to one person. Of course the head coach should be included in those decislions and the final decision be in the hands of the guy writing the check. Everyone should be on the same page
Based on Acun's interview, I think we can assume Giles will be our first signing. I think we're overpaying for him, assuming we're exercising the option and I'm with Rosie, he's not worth that much.
So do I, but that's often why Director's of football (director of footballs'?) Stuart at a club long term to manage and keep the club on track to the owners values and hire managers to fit the team set up - which should mean that a manager won't need to overhaul the entire squad as they should be suitable to their brand of football to a certain extent. I suppose this is where Tan comes in, with Acun very hands on in determining this as well so they should in theory be able to sign the players they want, for the style they want, and get a manager in who aligns with that. Then if that manager misses out on the playoffs on the last day of the season they can sack him and get someone else
me too…it’s taken me 30 hours to get my head around it, shock, denial, anger…..I’m now looking forward….onwards & upwards
Rosie limited the highest assisting full back of the last 3 seasons to a single assist so it’s not surprising.
In the interview Acun says he doesn’t let managers sign players so there’s no such thing as a Liam signing vs a Acun signing.
Not sure which thread to put this on but a lot of traffic on here so here goes. Does anyone have access to a table of penalties awarded and penalties missed. I think we missed a few which could have cost us the points needed to get us into the top 6
Im not sure how Rosie would have limited him. Giles didn’t look up to it for a few reasons. Some on here say he was carrying a knock, which would be one explanation. He also didn’t look compatible with Jaden and the way Jaden likes to play on the wing. Whenever Giles was further up the pitch he looked better, but I don’t see how that changes unless Jaden is sold this summer.
In the season for Middlesborough, Giles got 11 assists, 8 of those assisted a striker. I’d say half the games Giles has played we have played without a striker. I haven’t been that impressed with him. But for sure we haven’t seen the best of him in Rosie’s team.
