All clubs may have a list of potential managers but they dont limit it to just them most clubs dont sound out managers before sacking their manager most managers would say "there isnt a vacancy" some would go along with it
FFS people really love to twist things don't they, Acun is not picking the team, him saying xyz is someone he'd like to start is no different to any club owner saying they'd like to build a team around a certain player etc. it's just wordings. He also said a few weeks ago he'd like fred and also another keeper ( can't remember his name ) if he could have them. But as an owner I'd be questioning my coach/manager if a certain player was playing badly and costing us points but wasn't being dropped. They've every right to. It's a business and the same as any other business, if someone's underperforming then the people above will want to know why and also why the people they have in charge aren't changing them etc. I really can't believe how much the attitude towards acun has changed just because he's moved on a manger who he had under performed against the clubs targets. Yes he talked a very good game after swallowing every coaching manual possible, yes he loves the club ( as we all do ) and yes his nan was from Hull. But he came in, did a job and the owner doesn't see us getting to the next level with him in charge, he's had 1.5 seasons to convince the club he can do it and he's not, we move on..... Acun has absolutely transformed this club and the way some have gone in on him for trying to make us better, more attractive to watch and ultimately win promotion is laughable. We really do have a fickle fan base.
I agree that Acun knows more than anybody else what should be considered is whether Acun would say what had actually gone on he's sugar coated it: "Liam is a wonderful manager. We just want something different" "I didnt raise any concerns until after the end of the season" I think Baz would pick up on what was going on from January and be honest about it when the story could be told. Almost as if he was a reporter.
I just received an e-mail from my mate (ex-Leeds United player who resides here with his Canadian wife). He copied me in on yesterday's Guardian article about LR's demise, which was sent to him via his brother who lives in York in England. His brother (obv. a Leeds supporter) headed his e-mail "Disgraceful - another act of foolishness", while my mate agreed completely and had good things to say about LR. His final comment after extolling LR's virtues was "They outplayed Leeds at ER recently !" Good to know other club's supporters are being equally critical of, as my mate puts it, "...this 'owner's syndrome' in our game."
Acun's spent all day telling various media that it was nothing to do with the manager not meeting targets, he just didn't like the football he was serving up. I'm not fickle. nothing we say or do is going to have any bearing on what's happened, but people are going to carry on discussing it until the new bloke rocks up.
If you’re getting rid of someone who’s done a decentish job, then I’d expect he’d have someone lined up to stop all this **** that’s going on everywhere, where the feel good factor wouldn’t just disappear. Barmby to Bruce is one example.
Many owners would question a manager if he appeared to be making bad decisions. If not the owner then other people in the complicated organisation charts they come up with. A manager should be able to explain his reasons. Obviously you dont want to overdo the questions. I am an Acun supporter. He's made mistakes. Shota was an obvious one. Hopefully he has learnt from his mistakes and wont make a mistake with the new manager.
He hasnt done a decentish job The club were 6th and brought in some quality players and ended in 7th with some terrible performances, granted there were a few good ones. Would you consider only a few managers or risk the news getting leaked and Rosenior finding out?
Don't be! He's concluded over recent months that Rosenior isn't the man. (To me it's easy to see why and listening to him talk as I type, I can only agree with him). He'll have been working with Tan on potential replacements list. He's given him every reasonable opportunity and then announced his decision as soon as the season has ended. Why wait any longer to dismiss him? It would make absolutely no sense at all to wait a second longer.
