I’m hoping it’s mostly a language issue, but the “my club” bit is triggering for fans of this club given some of the previous owners’ statements. I suspect this is one area Acun may have misjudged the feelings of the fans when communicating Liam’s departure, which would be a rare misstep given his instinct for PR. I’m hoping he does have a sock blowing machine up his sleeve to be announced very very soon. oh, and the idea of Bruce coming back to deal with unfinished business is funny. He may have one of (the?) best track records at getting teams promoted out of the Championship, but Mr attacking football he is not. Unless you count his subs strategy of bringing on all the strikers on the bench until one of them finds the net. He’d get the defence sorted though. I’m sure he’s still enjoying the golf on the algarve too much to even think of coming out of retirement, he’s not Colin.
I suspect someone might be telling porkies. At the end of the day it’ll just be club PR. You hire a manager, you big them up. You sack said manager, you damage control and rebuild trust in leadership. Whoever we hire will be the next big thing in football according to our PR, and when they eventually leave, there’ll be a misalignment of vision. And the cycle will continue.

Anyone thinking Acun already has had his man lined up but is giving it a respectful couple of days before announcing?
I think I prefer Walter from what I’ve read, the Hamburg fans seemed to love his personality and the football. I think we’re going to need a strong personality to galvanise the squad because there’s going to be quite a big rebuild.
One myth put to bed by Acun, was the, oh, the loan players only came because of Rosenior and the style of play, he was a coach not a manager, and not a very good one, that why he’s gone, Acun and Tan brought loaned most of the players, the one Liam brought in Allsop did for his job in the end.
