Anything near to Ange is good for me. I did notice a criticism mentioned about Walter is a lack of a plan B which sounds familiar.
Sounds familiar because people say it about every ****ing manager, yet never acknowledge how often they say it, and always pretend it's just the current guy.
I am quite aware of the reasons he is referred to as Colin. I also know 2 people who have played for him and both regard him highly.
A lot of people do, I agree. Rosey is probably the first person I’ve actually thought it genuinely applied to. I think we once finished a game with 4 strikers and we played a diamond once vs Blackburn but other than that it was the same system all game, every game regardless of the circumstances, and when it wasn’t working changes were generally like for like.
Did I hear or read somewhere on here or one of the podcasts that Acun wasn’t happy about Pandur not being played when Allsop was on a bad run of form? Pandur was highly-rated and £1.5 million for him seemed an absolute steal at the time and there were rumours the fee was reduced because Acun wrote off any remaining debt owed to him by Fortuna Sittard from when he was a stakeholder.
Some names getting mentioned: Alex Rae! Paul Heckingbottom! Will Still! Ryan Mason! Scott Parker! Alex Neal! and how's this for utter bollox...Steve Bruce, apparently 'amongst the favourites' according to one rag. Though they do consider him to be an 'outsider'. Like feck..
Agree - I reckon many of us have a grudging respect for Warnock and what he has done in the game and maybe wish he'd had a spell with us at some point. Probably past it now, though
Not that I expect it to happen but I could certainly see Steve Bruce thinking he has unfinished business with us. And for the avoidance of doubt before anyone jumps on this post, I don't think he ever was or will be in the running, and it would be a massive mistake if he was - just like Thudd v2.
