I actually thought that he grew into the best version of himself in this very season. He actually put in some good performances and was playing well when a lot of other (more handsomely paid) players were not. I'm not saying he became a top quality player at this level. But he played well at this level when he got his chances, in a team that was poor overall. Kinda sad to see him go as I feel like he's been at the club with us. However, if we have ambition to finish higher next season that we have this season, we need not only a better replacement for him but 2 in that position.
Do you not see Dunne as 1st choice there then ? I think his performances since moved there warrant the chance to start there next season, unless we bring in some wonderkid, and I can't see that happening. We certainly need another right wingback as Cannon isn't good enough. I'd rather put the money towards a goalscorer than a 2nd new right wingback !
Has to be Dunne in that slot. He also provides centre back cover if/when needed too. We have priorities elsewhere before worrying about back there for sure.
Osman definitely improved a lot over time maybe not to a reliable Championship level but he never gave up and he's better than Todd Kane. It's a shame he didn't get a last run out at Cov. Just saw a rumour that Norwich are interested in Willock.
£5-7m for a player people were hating on not so long ago is not bad. Exactly what the club needs to be doing and reinvestment is then critical.
JCS won't go to Stoke. 1...he won't want too 2... we don't want him too 3...he has the ability to go to a better club...Ipswich, Leicester, Bournemouth, Fulham 4...he might just want to see how far we can go
