So congratulations again for a fine performance by Flanders who had the stamina to out run us all once he settled into his rhythm. Nine players had occupied top spot as the lead changed 17 times during the first 30 matches , but only Flanders took a grip when at match 31 showed us all what consistency means and stood firm to the end for the title. 27 players had a weekly top / shared top weekly score- a pint from the two who didn’t manage it will secure anonymity - Workey Ticket taking most at 6, an excellent effort as he only joined in at MD16 – will he be challenging next year ? Manager of the Year of course is Flanders, and he took 3 monthly awards on the way. Goal of the Season goes to Mikki- with 8 guest scores (just pipping Riever a.e.t by 2 correct scores in addition ) Safc Young Player of the Year is Oliver who got 5 of the lads correct scores. Great individual performances there, how did we do as a team? Our final average win % was 42.5% (last year 38.6%). A decent improvement especially as we saw a lot of unexpected results in a season of many shock results that just didn’t follow clubs’ form. Season high 66.7% (22/23 53.5%) Season low 18.5% (22/23 19.3%) Looking at form, the longest win sequence was 7, achieved by Dunder and Riever. Longest draws was 8 , steady as you go, Cumbrian. Longest losing was 5 games suffered by 2 players – won’t name them but both made excellent recoveries to show we must never give in. The Cumbrian Cup is in the hands of Cumbrian, but Rooch is back next season and we look forward to an exciting competition between the two. Finally, I’m sure one more person has checked out the final table, you are missing from it Mr RAW , but not missing from our thoughts and we shall be trying our best to be the winner of your Memorial Cup next year. Gentlemen, thank you for your kind comments on the results thread, and thankyou to Mr Armstrong who gives me the reassurance that he does quietly checkerising in the background. It’s my pleasure to do this and look forward to seeing all again for next season , which I believe starts 10th Aug. Enjoy the summer !
Thanks boys at least I managed to win what turned out to be a one horse race, although I am capable of even cocking that up Very enjoyable already looking forward to the 24/25 season.
@gelders pie ....amazing job mate, like you always do. I aim to join next season to hammer @rooch 3 (I always do) as he's pretty ****e. That said I don't think he's up for the fight Congrats to @flandersmackem. Outstanding effort.
