Because they knew we were **** and they would win after 10 mins, still I’m glad they stayed up rather than Brum
No, I think the bedrock is a squad of at least 10/11 players - some of whom will be depth and some first team promotion quality. Then over £30m to invest and a heightened loan reputation for bigger clubs to send their top talent. Plus an owner and fan base who are on a good relationship and crowds higher than they’ve been for a while. Id call that some bedrock.
I’m excited for next season already. Kit release, transfers and transfer rumours, pre-season friendlies and fixture releases etc. all serve as a small fix for City and club football over the summer until the first game of the season. Next season really could go in any direction. Could be pushing automatics or in a relegation scrap.
How many games did we actually have all our top players available? Delap and Philigene had months out, Carvalho and Omur joined in Jan, Seri went to AFCON. The team we finished the season with wasn’t the team for probably 90% of the games played. Had we started the season with that team I think we’d have comfortably made the play offs and maybe more. It’s been a really enjoyable season, which fully exceeded expectations and we get to do it all again next year which will be much more fun that getting pumped 5-0 the big boys in a soulless PL stadium.
Yes I think 7th is a massive improvement over last year and we are in a good position to kick on. This year's squad and last years were chalk and cheese. I have a feeling next season we will kick on again. #UTT
I asssume you're excited at the thought of us signing a hard tackling defensive midfielder with leadership characteristics!
If we were in their position, however **** the opposition looked, I'd still be expecting the worst, as would most football fans I think
The vast majority of 24k 'swalkow it.. If you're an aspiring bedroom Howden wannabe then it's about time you justified your utter bullshit. Maybe you can post some random undiscovered players in Belgium or Dutch lower leagues you've signed on champ or something? Or maybe just shout 'gerrit forward 'and 'play 1 touch' even louder or something?
I think they knew they had to win to survive, so they put in a herculean shift. Like every other one did, and won in the relegation fight.
