I have no idea mate, but I think you will be charged £31 this season, and next £35 for your premier league fixtures down here
Jager - you have said a lot of good things on here mate. Thanks for that. Didn't realise it was all kicking off on here. Not sure I can respond to everyones comments...But will say I have been a Swans supporter for quite a while, I had a season ticket for 4 years before I moved up to London last year. I still watched the Swans as much as possible, especially the London games, and would try and travel down to see games at the Liberty...Not to mention being the only Swans fan in the sports bar surrounded by the opposite fans when we're on TV. I have managed to catch about 4 games this season, which has cost me probably around £130? I'm a student at a university here, it's a full time course 9-6,7 each day. I also work at the school cafe straight after school finishes. The cycle home takes 30 mins, I arrive home at about 10.30pm All I'm saying is that i'm not some student who just sits in bed all day, then p****s away my student loan. My student loan doesn't even cover the cost of rent! I do feel let down by the club, and I know others do as well. The ticket prices are too expensive. I don't understand what is meant by the claim that students aren't the future of the club...of course they are! Look around the ground, a huge amount are students...Well, thats what it used to be like, not sure about now. I would have gladly bought an early bird season ticket if I was living in Swansea. premiership or not. I don't mind who it is we play, Wigan, Fulham, brighton, bristol, Man u - Just want to watch the Swans play, but at £35 not likely to happen
Thai, Prices were (straight off the ticket) Adult £35 Over 65 £25 Under 16 £20 Under 12 £12 No concessions for students though
Rhys no problem mate, I must agree with you on this, I am not a student anymore and pay full price for a ticket, I also have use of the platinum suite in most games through my uncles business, but choose mostly to pay and sit with mates. But I can see that it's unfair, and it's not right that the club has taken away the student discount on match day tickets, I would almost go and say that it discriminates against them because no other section of fans have had such a huge increase, what would your average punter say if the cost of a ticket today being £31 suddenly increased to £68 ? There would be an outcry! So on here this so effects two of our regular posters, fans that have been on 606 as long as I have been, how many more will it effect in the community as a whole ?
Rhys, I wouldn't say it's all kicking off mate it's a good thread from yourself and one which obviously needed bringing up. Jager, crc and a few others have just vented their feelings that's all and it's good to see that it hasn't descended into chaos (see what happens when our neighbours don't get involved). The bottom line is that we all seem to be agreeing that the club have not handled this properly and have not pit the fans first. I for one will renew as I will follow them no matter what, I do have to make cutbacks and will go without other luxuries so that I can afford it. I hope my missus doesn't mind getting bugger all for Christmas.
Just to clear one thing up - there is discount for full-time students on a season ticket, don't know about tickets for a one-off game. A season ticket for a full-time student in the East Stand will cost £289 next season, compared to adult price of £429 (about one=third off, providing you renew in December). That's about £15 per match. Or £12.50 if we get relegated.
Yeah I saw that and mentioned it above, honestly I could have sworn I didn't see that before the new version of their price list went up to include the end of march . I will see if I have the old version on my pc later
I think, by the looks of it, the crux of the problem lies in that the club massively underestimated the Swans attraction once we achieved PL level (on a number of levels). We could've done with extra seats, the ticket booking system is a bit of a shambles (albeit a slightly improved shambles of late) and the prices for students do seem harsh. Having said that, as I said eariler, it's very hard for the board of a club who may, worst case scenario, only ever sup at the top table once, to fail to maximise the revenue while we're here. I know it's stingy, but I bet the clubs accountants are chuffed! I wish I was in the country when the ST's were released, because I've just called off Blackburn away due to being skint. I had a look at the games I can make due to work/footie/other commitments and even if I make them all, I'll never accrue enough Jack Army points in time for the release of the unrenewed ST's, and even if I did there'd be loads of people ahead of me, so, sadly, it's not worth getting into debt over. Sad, but I'm skint, and I still think it sucks I'm probably going to miss all the "big" games this year unless a few mates can help me out with getting tickets.
His last effort only got one reply so he thought maybe people were getting fed up of his nonsense. I'll have a word with him - I'm sure he'd like to tell you what he's been up to.
Everyone is having a go at the club but I am very happy with ticket prices: Off the top of my head im sure season ticket was 440 / 19 games = 23 pounds per game Excellent value to watch premiership football!!
Yes you are happy with the price, and so am I as I am getting it that price, but look at this way, if you are student this what it will cost you, and what it would have cost you Premier League 15 Games = £525 / £240 19 Games = £665 / £304 If relegated Championship 15 Games = £525 / £240 23 Games = £805 / £368
Im a student, im from Swansea, iv been going for years (some with season tickets some without due to finances) but now am totally ****ed!! Im already up to my balls in debt as it is but now i find out that i cant even afford to go watch my local team due to pricing! And its not that i didn't choose to work, i just chose not to work for minimum wage for the rest of my life... I currently work part time in a retail store, but have absolutely no intention of living that way. Now its as if the club are punishing you for choosing to aim for a better lifestyle. Great.
There are a few issues here. What we charge home fans is what we charge away. We were sold cheaper season tickets this year. ensuring 16000 people had entry to the ground at a good price. unfortunately that meant an increase in price for the rest of the available tickets. Whether this is right or wrong i dont know but no doubt a reason. Like it or not as said earlier it is supply and demad and i have no doubt if more expensive we would for this season still sell out our home games. My other issue with the stydent ticket price is i know people who were working full time and part time students who were able to buy cheaper student tickets. How far do the club go. do we cut prices for people out of work. through no fault of their own in these times. just a thought
