Jesus yeah just seen it on the BBC website - poor bloke, absolute tragedy, still so young. Condolences to family & friends - RIP
well i cant believe that, did he not hold the record for most prem games played ?? was always the quiet gentle giant, awesome at every club he played at, and 5 yrs younger than me, ,,,,,,,,
I met him at a football school when i was a kid,he seemed a really decent bloke, really is truly awful news RIP
12.45 Navan - MOUNT BENBULBEN backed at 2/1 (BOG) This is a very good grade 2 Novice hurdle here and today we will find out if the hype that surrounds Mount Benbulben can be justified. I am more than happy to take a chance on him at around the 2/1 mark this afternoon as he was a most impressive bumper performer last season and looked a potential superstar when producing a devestating performance at Limerick to beat a nice horse from the Willie Mullins stable Lovethehigherlaw (sadly no longer with us R.I.P.). It was always going to be fascinating to see how this one would do once sent hurdling and so far he looks very good. He was unfortunate to slip up at Galway on his hurdling debut when coming in to contention very smoothly but made no mistake at the second time of asking when winning unextended at Thurles under a very confident Paul Carberry. Today he faces his toughest challenge for sure as Texas Jack looks a very nice performer having easily swept aside the re-opposing Make A Track when they met at Clonmel earlier this month. Also in the race is the strong travelling Rebel Fitz who has won his last two starts in impressive fashion, this is a step up in class for him but the same can be said about the rest of the field and the booking of Ruby Walsh is a huge plus. Jetson has always promised so much and may finally be starting to deliver, he won last time out in convincing fashion and he is by no means a no hoper here. 1.55 Carlisle -MOUNTAIN HIKER backed at 3/1 (BOG) An interesting Novice's Hurdle here for sure but it certainly looks to lack anything with a touch of class and this is why I will be disappointed if Mountain Hiker isn't good enough to make a winning hurdling debut. He was a 95 rated performer on the flat and only raced 7 times he will stay this distance no problem and I suspect the owners had to pay a fair amount to get this one for hurdling. The current fav is Proud Times (Mountain Hiker rated 11lbs better on the flat) and I see no reason why the selection wouldn't make a nice hurdler
feels starnge posting after that news from RV, still cant believe it however Texas Jack here in the next
RV i fancied the elliot runner but that 1st runner did not look right, one swallow does not make a summer but im going with Texas Jack and see how Elliots runs
Heis - a footballer on sky news just said he was found hanging at his home (unconfirmed but seems it is true bbc reporter said same) - that is just so sad. Really makes me wonder when yesterday he looked great on football focus live. Really feel terrible. Agree about Elliots first runner, thought it would win
Hello lads. Some great racing from Navan today with the ultra competitive Fortria chase the highlight.I have already have a few bob e.w. on Ad Idem at 20/1 on Friday.I really like the horse but not sure he gets 3m.Navan is a stiff 3m.Interesting jockey booking as well putting a conditional up. Also keen on Stephanie Kate,as I have saying all week, but the race has cut up a little and Denis Hogan is not a favourite jockey of mine. However the presence of Knockfierna means she won't go off favourite, currently best priced 11/8. May also play on Flemenstar who I had a decent e.w on at 7's on his fencing bow before he was backed into 9/4.Unfortunately he finished second behind a nice Tony Martin horse.Interesting that he supplies the main rival today in Hold The Pin who is bound to be popular TM having a formline on my selection. However,I expect Flemenstar to come on for the run and this huge beast can step up on his seasonal debut.I'd like to see him ridden in front.Unfortunately he is also short and currently also 11/8.He may well drift as punters,as usual, latch onto Hold The Pin with the RW/TM connection. GL all having a go.
Mount Belbulben wins but in no mood to celebrate. I am off that news has really sickened me. Have a good day all- thanks Danbo
