Also, it’s games like this which solidify my belief that Greaves would be a much bigger loss and harder to replace than Philogene. If there’s a hypothetical choice of keeping one and selling the other for £20 million, I’m keeping Greaves every day of the week.

There’s a lack of leadership and grit in the team and it’s more obvious when Coyle is not playing. A midfield of Seri and Morton or Seri and Slater or Slater and Morton just does not work. Carvalho has spent more of this game on his arse than standing up and Philogene has been off the boil. When your big players aren’t turning up and making things happen, you rely on the less-gifted but mentally-strong players to step up and marshal the rest of the team. With Coyle on the bench, we lack that.
