Let's see your line up, but make sure it's fresh, it's harder than you think.

    Patterson
    Hume Ballard O'Nien Alese
    Rigg Styles
    Mundle Aouchiche Clarke
    Hemir

Subs: Young, Pembele, Bainbridge, Kelly, Ekwah, Watson, Jobe, Ba, Roberts

I'm all for giving a bit of youth a go, but there is a game to be won and points and pride to play for, not to mention the integrity of the league. We have to give Sheff Wed a game with the level of intensity as if we need a win to stay up

No doubt we’ll not have a striker on the pitch, so I reckon we could play till midnight and not score.

We could get gubbed. Going for 0-2.

If the wrong choices are made in the summer, and we don’t address the team’s obvious issues in the transfer market, I fear relegation next season.

Maybe, but we learn nothing playing that team. Mine offers the opportunity for genuine growth.

Let's say Hjelde has a MOTM performance and LON looks good at DM sweeping up, we go into preseason with new information.

Wouldn't mind that, especially 09 as DM. Sadly won't happen though.

Great thread again. A home win would be nice but next season can't start quick enough.

Let's have a great send off for Charlie

I think we've been there, done that with O'Nien as a midfielder. I see absolutely no merit in playing him there any more

He’s been really poor in midfield whilst here.

He's hasn't played there since QPR away last season where I thought he played really well in there personally. His passing has also improved a lot the last couple of years.

Let me add my thanks and admiration to RTB for these stunning match threads, which provide us all with hours of entertainment every week.

I don't expect Dodds to change things very much, as I don't believe he's capable. I think this might end 0-0, because we don't score goals, so would be happy with a point and Sheffield Wednesday only need a point for survival.

What I hope happens is for Dodds to withdraw Clarke after 70 minutes or so, so the crowd can properly show their appreciation to him. This will also allow Watson to get some minutes under his belt and prove me wrong by grabbing the winner.

    Dodds on Dennis Cirkin
“Dennis won't be involved. He has been training with the group, and as I said a couple of weeks ago, it's that risk and reward.
“Do we look to involve him and kind of speed the process up a little bit from a perspective of just trying to get him on the pitch? or do we accept the fact that he is still a couple of weeks away?
“He seems to be going in the right direction and fingers crossed everything will be set for him to have a really strong pre-season and show everyone what a wonderful footballer he is.”
    Dodds on Nazariy Rusyn
“Naz has started training this week but won't be involved. He's fine, but he’s had an issue with his calf. I think if we had one more game, he would probably feature, but it's a week too early for him.”

15 months ago, exactly. He’s no midfielder.

I like your line up and the reasoning behind it, we should have tried O/9 in midfield when we had Seelt available , and we were desperate for a CDM to get Ekwah and Neil further forward , the argument against O/9 in midfield has no foundation whatsoever, he has all the attributes and actually plays more like a sweeper in a 4 most of the time, personally I would say he is more of a midfield player than a centre half, and he is not at all bad their either imo.
First name on the team sheet for me whatever position, he is asked to play , he wont let anybody down.

Exactly, I find it odd people can't conceive of him playing DM when he does the role half the time anyway and looks fully comfortable. I don't see how him staying there and someone replacing him at CB would make him less capable of doing the job.

As part of a midfield two I'm not so sure but as a DM he could do it blindfolded.

Wow. The end of another season.
    Tempus Fugit.

Great job from @RTB and a big thanks for all the match threads.

Special thanks to @monty987 for his unwavering positivity. <laugh>

My son has made the 200 mile trip up today ready for the match tomorrow. So I'm especially hoping for a win to see the season out.

I'm on my last 12hr night shift FFS,

For certain games I'm sure he would suite that role, but I'm hoping next season we are more on the front foot. I'd like us to take the game to other teams

It can work out that way as it frees up Neil and Ekwah to attack without having to track back to protect the defence as much.
