Really impressed with how Ipswich have done what they have done. I think back to the opening day and for 30 minutes we has them dizzy. But they stayed calm that day, and had proper forwards. Since then they have made great choices. They made the move for Moore at just the right time and he looks like he might well be instrumental. They are in a strong position with FFP rules and are able to push again next year. Well done them, a bit of an exemplar club I would say.

I’m not sure I’d agree personally. Other than Jobe missing a sitter, Ipswich were more than comfortable and looked better in every department. Very well organised team. Fair play I say

We played well against them mind, Wes Burns came out and said we’d been the best team they’ve played even after Leeds beat them. They just had a proper striker playing off O’nien and one simple through ball undone him.

That first 30 minutes mate. We were like our best of last year and they were shell shocked. As time went on and we didnt score, the inevitible by this seasons standards happened. Ipswich grew and played well. But if it was 3-0 after 30 mins they cant have complained.

Fair enough. I might be thinking of another fixture at home early on in the season but the Jobe miss stands out more than most.

On the other hand they could’ve easily scored 4+ too though. Was a great game for the championship in general that both teams going at it for 90 minutes. Ipswich had a plan and they played it perfectly, we were great but fluffed our chances.

Story of our early season, barring Southampton. Fluffed chances. It went from a bright opening in performances at least, to a more turgid approach due to that lack of instinct up front. Teams got used to us and we lacked the players to be different. Next season I am hoping for different, and I think it will come. We seem to be at least shopping in 2 or 3 pools of players now.

I missed the opening game v Ipswich as on holiday, all my mates said we played well but were unlucky infront of goal. They got two shots away, with deflections and then tap ins. We were probably the better team but that's football.

We now find ourselves looking forward to next season more in happiness to get away from this poor showing. I love all the talk of Mogga needed to go,but I'd have kept him to the end of the season: **** or bust. Feel sorry for Dodds dropped into this meat grinder, surely upstairs will look after him.

Massive changes needed, looking forward to it more than Saturday... but then again, it's a 12.30 k.o. then pub until the lass threatens to call the emergency services ...

    As love is forever.

    Hhhaaa'wwwwaaaaayyyyyy the lads

Exactly! Moore has been a class signing for them.

I remember him being linked with us, probably all paper talk, then when it came out he was on 35k a week, we were never in the conversation. Scored a brace on his debut didn't he?

Could you imagine the service Moore would have received from our 3 attacking midfield? Don't think we were setup properly to play a CF. Need a massive reset

Couldn't agree more mate. I'm not looking to be a doomer, but I'm going to be realistic and sit back and see what happens. Been here a million times before.

Folk wanted Mowbray gone. Ok. I thought it was premature. Just my opinion.

What is unarguable in my opinion is the way it was handled was naieve. It was clear we had no solid plan for a replacement. Then we put a new fella in ahead of a period in the season where coaching opportunities is limited. Mowbray and Beale are now history. But those responsible for the decision making related to sacking and appointments have been found lacking. No doubt they will either be gone, or have more scrutiny next season. Those appointing coaches need to understand the necessities to give them a chance to succeed. In Mowbrays case and Beales case the hierarchy created an environment in which failure would be more likely than success. Lessons can be learned, sure they will be. The next lad needs to think carefully, and get his assurances.
