    Match Preview;
    As the season comes to an end, we head up the M1 to Coventry, for our last game. Our hosts, who lost on Tuesday night to Ipswich Town, will be ruing what could have been. In April, they lost five, drew one and won one game...potentially as their focus was on their upcoming FA Cup semi-final, which they lost to Man United on penalties. Those results leave them 8 points outside the playoff spots, in 9th position with 64 points. Their top scorers are Haji Wright and Ellis Simms, who are both on 19 (!!!) goals, so their only competitive edge could come from those two wanting to end as their season's top scorer.

    As for us, so great to go into the last game with nothing to play for. When you consider that, in October 2023 when Cifuentes came in, we were 23rd with 2 wins and 2 draws...so 8 points, and were already 6 points away from safety...to manage a turnaround that has seen us win 12 and draw 9 games is truly impressive. The amazing thumping of Leeds United on Friday night guaranteed the only competitive edge in this game for us, will be if Dykes (7) or Chair (6) ends up as our top scorer for the season. Again...just shocks me when I compare our list of top scorers with other teams...Coventry's fifth highest scorer, Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, has 7 goals, and I know we are skint and strikers are expensive, but if we don't find someone who will score 20/25 a season I can't see us moving beyond mid-table in the near future.

    That said, what a job Cifuentes has done since arriving. Looking at the form since he arrived does make me look forward to next season, so enjoy if you are heading to Coventry, have a great summer one and all, and as always...

    ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

    Cheers Dave.

    I think there is a strike/works on the Euston - Coventry line. Alternative route Marylebone to Leamington Spa, change to local train direct to Coventry Arena. But they only go once an hour.

    Wouldn't it be nice if the teams decided to put on a show now that neither have anything to play for with a nice 3-4 result in our favour. Usually in such games nobody can really be arsed

    This was a rare away game for me last season. Men against boys at that time. Completely different prospect now.

    It's a pity they're not in with a playoff chance as might have been a cracking game.

    Shouldn’t that be in blue and white. Tradition is tradition after all. Though Kiwi & Ubes probably wouldn’t care as they rush naked into Turks garden bar :emoticon-0136-giggl

    I have been checking the trains today. We are travelling from Birmingham Airport to the stadium. From Coventry City Centre, there is only one train an hour at 56 minutes past the hour (ie. 09.56, 10.56, 11.56 etc). I'd imagine that 11.56 train will be mad busy.

    After the game, there is also only one train an hour from Coventry Arena to Coventry City Centre at 50 minutes past the hour. I'd say it will be bedlam trying to get on the 14.50 from the ground back to Coventry.

    We need to get to Birmingham Airport by about 4pm for our flight home. From Coventry to Birmingham airport, there are no trains and only a bus replacement service in operation. Anybody with some local knowledge know the best way of us ensuring we get to BHX airport before 4pm? We are prepared to use local taxis, Uber, Buses, trains etc.

    On previous occasions in the UK, before and after matches, we always seem to have problems getting an Uber. In Swansea for example, we had to walk from the ground into the city centre after the game. Before the game, the Uber system couldn't connect to a driver and luckily, we got a normal taxi from the station and arrived with minutes to spare. This is about the 4th or 5th occasion we have had transport troubles when in the UK. We had problems getting to Stansted one time, Sunderland (with the metro), problems from Leicester to Birmingham Airport, Swansea and now, Coventry. Is it just greedy train drivers looking for extra money or what?

    If anybody can advise, would appreciate any local information, thanks.
