Good Morning. It's Wednesday 1st May, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    They think it's all over..

Leeds must beat Southampton on Saturday and hope Huddersfield Town pull off a miracle at Portman Road, if Leeds are to get promoted automatically this season.

The Tractor Boys eased past Coventry City 2-1 last night, courtesy of goals from Kiefer Moore and Cameron Burgess, and went three points ahead of the Whites, ahead of the season finale on Saturday. Leeds still have a superior goal difference, meaning if everything goes their way at the weekend, promotion is theirs!

As things stand, Leeds will face Baggies in Play off's

As things stand, Leeds will face West Brom in the Semi Final's of the play-offs later this month.

The Baggies need a point at home against Preston to guarantee sixth place, and put a stop to Hull City's late charge for a play off place. Similarly, a win against the Lilywhites could see West Brom leapfrog Norwich City who must beat Birmingham City to stay fourth, and face a show down with Southampton.

Kiefer Moore made a massive difference

Leeds will by now be regretting their blatant disregard towards the loan system, made more prominent by Ipswich Town taking full advantage.

The Tractor Boys bought four new players into their squad in January, including Kiefer Moore (7 goals) and Ali Al Hamadi (4 goals). Moore in particular has been instrumental for Kieran McKenna's side. His hold up play is exceptional, he's the best headerer in the Championship, and with a Whoscored rating of 7.31 (1st), has had a major impact for Ipswich Town.

    Morning All

It pains me to say it but well done Ipswich that's one hell of an achievement.

Yeah we should have got a few loanees during the last window but saying that I don't think we shouldn't of got rid of Spence and Ayling either.

I'm just hoping that we don't get Hull in the playoffs and yes it's a possibility..

IF and it's still IF we go up on Saturday I have no doubt at all that you will win the play-offs.

Do us a favour and beat Norwich in the final <ok>

Agree re Ayling but not Spence. He clearly wanted to do his own thing re being late for training etc. We don't need that. Morning all by the way. Not sure if we have the bottle to get to Wembley, let alone win it

Until I hear both sides of the sorry I going to stick to my opinion.

As for getting to Wembley I semi agree with you. I reckon there's 3 teams we could play and I don't wanna hold my breath we any of them and the idea of playing Hull over 2 legs doesn't fill me with confidence.

:emoticon-0148-yes: They had that bit of bottle to stumble over the line, so yes i applaud :emoticon-0137-clapp them , but i never thought we could be so poor these last few games which made it relatively easy for them.

In fairness, Ristac has said from day one we've the best team in the Championship and Im inclined to agree with him. However it takes far more than that to get over the line specially with a young team. The word bottle keeps cropping up and when we got to the business end of the season Leicester and Ipswich had it and we didn't. It's going to take a huge change in mindset for this lot to get to Wembley and win there. Think it'll be important the crowd give them a proper sendoff on Saturday too. No booing or negative vibes please

I think we became a bit too predictable, and lack of substitutions to keep players fresh has cost us points. Fine margins...

I agree the squad just not big enough especially in midfield.

The best team is Leicester because they play as a team unlike us.

More than easy we are pathetic. Kamara, and gruev must be the midfield pairing or we will lose play offs.

    Afternoon all

Saturday will be all about putting in a performance and hitting some form, getting the players in the right mindset. We could still get promoted, hard to believe Ipswich would lose and we would win final day, I have the feintest glimmer of hope

:emoticon-0148-yes: Absolutely. We just have not looked the same with the Archie/Gruev pairing, but it's not just them, we need a cool finisher, well we have got one in Joseph but hardly ever use him until it's to late when the team are playing poor, so he's not going to make much of a difference. I would be Radical For the play offs.
I would Start Klaesen in goal, with Kamara/Gruev partnering again, drop Piroe and put Bamford/Joseph up front.
That will rustle a few feathers.

I don't have any, would put a few squad players in and rest the main guys for the play offs, but they won't do that, while the saints etc probably will.

    Afternoon all.
There are problems we've had for years that are adding to our woes.
We can't take a decent free kick or corner. On the rare occasion we do, we can't finish it.
we don't have a prolific goal scorer, although not many do.
our forwards get a nose bleed in the final third. They have done for years. Our passing in the opposition half is usually, not always so they can do it, woeful.
We don't have a creative player who can pick a pass out in the danger area.
We don't get enough goals from our midfield or defenders.
A lot of our problems lately have been caused by our insanely slow build up play. By the time we make it into the other half, if they haven't pressed us into a mistake, which happens a lot, or forced us to launch it long or wide, we are facing 2 banks of 4.
Willy and Cry don't press with Paddy. We miss that from James when he plays. We also suffer defensively when they are both starting because they don't defend as much.
I think Rutter tries to do too much with the ball because the options aren't there. Opponents have been marking spaces and cutting down passing options. I don't think we're as mobile as we used to be. He loses the ball a lot of the time but if he does lose his man he opens up a chance for us.
On top of all that we now commit too many players forward so when the attack breaks down we're punished.
As an opposition manager you can look at us and see that you need to nullify Cry defintely, possibly Willy, and maybe Bamford, or ar least stop him getting on the end of stuff, and you've, pretty much, cancelled us out.
Not all teams are able to do it but if they work hard and keep it tight we will commit more and more and they will get chances.
It is why Firpo gets freedom, they're concentrating on Cry.
It's why we look better when Rodon brings it out because they have to break formation to deal with him.
I am stunned how **** we are at free kicks. If a team gets one anywhere in our half they cause us problems. If we get one we, very often, pass it back and put ourselves in trouble.
I think he plays Bamford because he presses and moves a lot off the ball working the defence. I don't think Cry and Willy do.
All my opinion and ready to be shot down.

From the third paragraph down - All to do with the coach and him being outcoached.

We have better players than virtually any team in this division but they don't play as a team and we don't play to their strengths or it is a bit mix and match

When Gray was being played at RB Farke, said something along the lines of fitting him into the team. I do feel he is a better RB than Byram now though but that's besides the point. Square pegs round holes, that's been a favourite saying amongst us all for a long time now.

James and Gnonto, are they best on the right or the left, I would say left for both, Gray RB or Midfielder, Rutter 9 or 10 and Ampadu CB or CM it has been a common theme. I felt Farke had it sorted until recently when he has been outcoached and we have looked poor against some very average teams
