I actually think that they would have the balls to stay up if they make it. Brentford yet again stayed up with minimum fuss. When you look at the resources of both clubs you have to ask how we can’t manage this.
Looking on the bright side. Though it’s unfortunate we won’t be certain of missing the auto slots until the last game of the season, at least there is NO possibility of further disappointment for me in the playoffs.
Except for when the EFL decide to dock us 25 points so that we miss out on the play offs totally, as they may think that we would have audacity to actually do well in them for a change
That would work, too. But I think they prefer to torture us. I will continue to rely on the Leeds tradition of failing ignominiously in all playoffs.
If you pip us to the autos then I will be the first to congratulate you.as you will have deserved it over the 46 games. For our part we will have pushed you all the way and given you no rest bite during the season. What makes the current system so unjust is when you have 3 teams all racking up 90 points plus and the one missing out having to face the lottery of the play-offs and possible defeat against a team that finishes with 20 points less than you over the regular season. I know there are many arguments for and against the current system and we all know the rules but it will be a bitter ending for either of us if we fail to gain promotion from here.
When you are part of the top three virtually all season, the playoffs seem unfair. To the other 21 teams and their fans the playoffs are a great idea. If we were sixth, wed be singing their praises
