we’ll be saying the same thing when we play Chelsea soon. I said it earlier, but it feels like every big derby we play is full of a mix of back luck, wasted chances, poor referring, and often a bit of controversy thrown in. If feels like we’re never the ones who benefit. we’re very likely to finish 5th with our remaining games against the likes of Burnley and Sheffield United, and our current points difference. I know no spurs fans will want to ever see spurs lose, but we can’t have this lot winning the league. So I do wonder how the city game will pan out. I can easily see our fans cheering city on, knowing we’ve basically got nothing to play for.
For me thus is about goalkeeping and defending set pieces. Once again we have a goalkeeper who is a great shot stopper but he does not command his area and this is a large shortcoming and is letting us down badly. All the teams have sussed this weakness. Why haven't we?
I've said it before and I'll say it again... 'What we need is a fit Eze, instead of that waste of space Werner'. Need to make that call to Crystal Palace soon.
it’s really poor that the set piece situation hasn’t been addressed in the last 2 weeks, let alone longer. It’s been staring us in the face.
Why we didn't make the call to QPR after tracking him for ages I'll never ...oh yeah, now I remember. Bloody Portuguese
Hi guys. Hope everyone is having a good Pesach. Piskie asked me to wish you all a good St Totteringham’s Day. Personally I think that sounds quite camp and don’t care. Yom Tov.
We come away with pride intact, at the very least. I don't think our first half performance was nearly as bad as some made out. Arsenal did to us what plenty of other teams have done, which is worrying as these are problems to sort out on the training ground, not in the transfer market. You can't buy a system to defend corners for you. It's about organisation and communication and right now I don't see either of those whenever we defend a set piece. In the cold light of day, the starting XI contained four players (Davies, Hojbjerg, Werner and Kulusevski) who are nowhere near the standard we need. The team on the pitch at full time saw a further three players thrown into the mix who just aren't good enough (Lo Celso, Bissouma and Richarlison) and two who aren't good enough yet (Johnson and Sarr). The problem is obvious.
One of the most useful we've ever signed, yes. But as I've said countless times: He should be nowhere near the starting line up and today there was no need for him to be near it. That's on Ange.
