30s. But I didn't really follow Newcastle until late 2000s.

He's far more skilful than Shearer. But Shearer was a far stronger player, this Isak is unlikely to have the longevity/legacy of Shearer.

Isak seems to be more injury prone than Shearer. Shearer's injuries were a few of the really bad ones, whilst Isak seems to get more of of the ones that keep him out a few weeks - thigh and groin injuries.

Isak and Shearer are very different types of strikers in a very different playing era.

Isak would have struggled with the PL in Shearers era because he would get smashed every week.

However Shearer would still bang loads of goals in in todays game.

I don't agree that he would be smashed every week.

Hughie Gallacher was 5'5 playing in the 1920s when who knows what was allowed to happen on the pitch, yet he is our greatest ever goalscorer (goals to game).

A good player is a good player no matter what era it is.

He got 37 goals for Blackburn the previous season. He was at his best when playing with Sutton.

League he didn't..31 in 35, more teams in the league.

All i'm saying is his best goalscoring period were last 3 seasons at Blackburn and first season for us, they were similar returns goals to game.

    League goals

    93/94: 31 in 40
    94/95: 34 in 42
    95/96: 31 in 35
    96/97: 25 in 31

Also Shearer and Ferdinand was better than Shearer and Sutton.

Clearly wasn't cos Shearer and Sutton won the league and Shearer and Ferdinand didn't.

His goal scoring in all 3 of his Blackburn seasons was significantly better than any season when he was here. He was better at Blackburn, it's not up for debate.

First and foremost - Shearer over Isak everyday of the week and twice on a matchday. No point comparing them though as they are chalk and cheese imho. Could Shearer have assisted that goal vs Everton Isak did last year, dribbling round 87 players and knocking it across the face leaving defenders twisting and turning - could he **** but equally Isak probably couldn't score Shearers goal vs Chelsea/Desailly with the strength to hold of one of the worlds best CB's at the time, turning and putting it top bins.

Isak however is this generations number 1 CF however - the guy is insanely good, his finishing and composure are world class and the run he made at the weekend for his first was mind-bendingly good. The amount of times he puts defenders on their arse and slots home! It is as glorious as it is hilarious watching them sprawling around on the floor while the net bulges!

Isak is already clear of the rest of the class since Shearer retired and will probably be the one to get closest to his records, but, bar a few weird ones - like most consecutive penalties or homes games scored in a row - not sure he will catch many of them even with 10 years here.

I'm not debating it i'm just saying his first season with us was pretty much the same as at Blackburn goal ratio wise, then he tailed off.

Well that's BS too as his first season wasn't even his more prolific with us, he got a bad injury in his second season but came back strongly.

Shearer and Ferdinand only played one season together and we scraped second that year, Shearer and Sutton won the league.
