Man I’m pissed and I’m pissed. Every time we get given a lifeline we can’t ****in take it. I hope the buying power is there and the players are available next summer. It’s easy to see nothing but doom and that this was our shot but nobody upon nobody saw players like Carvalho and Zaroury being available let alone willing to sign for us until they did. It seems like the management team has pulled rabbits out of the hat and they have surely run out of rabbits, but they will do it again. I know it’s not over yet but we’re gonna keep going from strength to strength. Look how this team plays right now compared to how this team played in the first 3-4 months on the season.
Decent performance, but it was a microcosm of our home season.....Poor defending and lack of being switched on cost us again.....He had the freedom of the MKM for their third goal. Missing out on the playoffs is a disappointment, but who wants to go to the Premier League to get bummed every week? Very emotional at the end for the lap of honour and the bound between the club, the players and fans is strong...But how many of those walking around will be here next season?
Really enjoyed that game. A fitting end to a decent season (I know there' one more to go and who knows what might happen). I am sure Tan and Acun want more repeats of tonights atmosphere. Great support. Decent display. Need to improve defensively (I know the lad is a Chelsea loanee but wtf, letting him score like that twice). Roll on the next chapter be it play offs or next season.
Could Allsopp have done better?...It was well placed but not exactly firmly hit. Still City should have closed him down because it was obvious to a blindman that he was going to have a pop.
It does make me chuckle that a few weeks ago people were calling for LR to go or saying he's not the right man for the job. The improvement in this side from the start of the season to the end is massive and there's a real lack of perspective on this board sometimes.
Cheers for that lads, gives us the chance to cement top spot on Monday, fingers crossed for a WBA balls-up next weekend
What a ****ing game. Morton really should have done better with the ball in for their first but can't do much about those moments of magic from Hutchinson - perhaps should have had closer marking on him after he'd already done it once. Some outstanding saves from Allsop to deny them particularly right at the end and the scramble from Greaves et al was top notch. Tufan had two free headers he should have done better with either side of HT but terrific effort from the side not to dip their heads. Magic ball in from Fabio for Delap's goal and boy have we missed that, and a huge finish from Ohio. Loved his balls to gee up the crowd who - I agreed - were quite quiet after we'd gone 3-2 down. Bouncing atmosphere the rest of the time though!
Cue people saying "But if we'd played like that against Stoke..." Damning with faint praise is the modus operandi on here.
Been more than one example so far. Allsop doing 'nothing spectacular' but was a motm contender (to paraphrase) being but one.
I thought Allsop was terrific, made some sharp saves in tight, stopped Moore with a brilliant save, and right at the end saved us a point against Hutchinson. I'd say he made what, 5-6 saves? Not bad from someone who can't make a save supposedly. EDIT: 7 saves, terrific.
I've said it before. City fans always need a scapegoat. Mob-shyte mentality and all that. Make a couple of mistakes and they'd criticise him for the way his sh*ts curl out if they could.
Great effort - really enjoyed it. Just back after round trip from Twickenham. Not the warmest of welcomes when I was desperate for a wee after a long journey but wanting to go into club shop to buy a shirt (hence not wanting to go straight into stadium and not be let back out again). Spotted the loos in the Dugout only for the jobsworth in the door to refuse to let me go, wittering on about it being a members only bar. I was about to piss myself which he seemed quite happy to happen. Then tried club shop - where do you go to the toilet I asked. ‘The offices’ but you can’t go there was the answer. Pretty shabby all round really especially as I made round trips to Coventry and Hull this week to support the team. Anyway, the boys really fought well. Ipswich were better and there must be lessons to learn from them but we managed to claw our way back into it. To take it to the last game is great.
Can we discuss how good Seri has been lately. He was absolutely immense last night. Finding him a partner, ie a bit of craphouse is imperative, and I don’t think Morton or Slater is the answer really.
Seri's key. We need a succession plan whilst he's still gonna play the majority of games. I thought it was still officially legal to piss on the back wheel of a vehicle? Should have gone on the away team coach. They're Ipswich FFS. Wouldn't smell any different by the time they got back anyway.
I watched the second half, obviously wanting a Hull win but I might be regretting that in the playoffs, second time I’ve watched Hull and second time the football has been superb. Two teams giving 100% and not bottling it, unlike Leeds, Southampton and WBA
