Allsop - credit where credit is due. I've criticized him for his mistakes in other games, but he made some great saves tonight -his best game for us so far IMO Delap - they looked rattled when he came on Omur -what a find he is -always a threat going forward. No one had a bad game -a thoroughly enjoyable match and we did ourselves proud on Sky for once!
Tufan - despite the fact that he missed three good chances. Seri - left with a lot to do at times but did his best. Greaves - ditto
Seri Tufan Greaves Seri's assist was brilliant stuff. Robbing the defender again and then the smartness to draw the keeper and then square it, that's what we've lacked at times earlier in the season, that killer decision-making. Some players would've just smashed it at the keeper but he showed the same level-above awareness of space that he often does in the middle of the park and it was brilliant. Tufan also finished it well, putting it so high that the defender couldn't do anything. Ozan has really improved in the last few weeks for me, he's not giving the ball away any more and he's getting chances to show off his finishing ability again.
A wonderful entertaining game of football where City players gave their all. Hard to pick 3 players but: Omur Carvalho Delap edged it for me
Never as simple as that. Just back from a knee injury starting him two games in 3 days is a tough ask.
If you want his knee to go again, or some muscle injury then it was absolutely right not to start a second game in 4 days. I must admit I had a bit of a semi for that first 15 of the second, when we brought Delap on but kept Tufan as well... That forward 5 was ****ing ridiculous until they made changes.
Find it difficult to criticise Ozan. But he can be ****ing frustrating at times. He's got it all now. Always had technique but now he's showing graft and a bit of stamina to muck in deep... He's double figures for goals and a couple of assists now isn't he? Whilst complimenting a structure and tracking back as well, for probably the first time he's been pre-requsitioned to do that.
people being much too harsh on Jacob - he won most of the defensive headers in the box - almost every time the ball came in all the commentator was saying was headed clear by Jacob - plus it was Jacob who headed the ball clear towards the end when Ipswich charged forward, Allsop parried and Jacob headed cleared for a corner - and it was Jacob who won the header at the far post that came back to Ohio to score the equaliser - bit more credit due
Tufan Delap Ohio All made the difference to our attacking play (and we really needed those goals!) Omur just misses out, he was almost perfect. And then I thought Allsop, Greaves, Seri and Carvalho played really well for the most part too. Slater, Jacob and Jones had a tough evening but they also did some outstanding things and certainly didn’t have bad games.
