Good. Not really good. And it's not acceptable to fall away like we have. We should have been in the mix for automatic promotion with the squad we've got. Fans are pissed off and rightly so.

I literally said I understand the frustration, im as pissed off as everyone, but the lap of appreciation isn't based on the last couple of weeks or today's performance, it's a seasonal thing. And, overall, we've had a good season and they deserved better.

I'm not sure what they expected fans to do TBH. After all, we're STILL waiting for a reaction from the Cardiff defeat that Martin promised.

Well said. Taking the seasons as a whole this last season has given the fans far more pleasure and enjoyment than our last season in the EPL. It's not the first time that the wheels have come off the Saints' Bus and it wont be the last. We will go back up soon enough but let's not do it before we are ready to compete.

Adarma - Player of the Season. (Gave 110% every time he put the shirt on).

Na the players don’t deserve it.

It’s not good for geeing them up, but frankly they have massively disappointed for the best part of three months.

Club should have waited until the play off semi for this, it was naive to hold it today when the team is in bad form and the season isn’t over.

People who moan about other fans and disappointing atmospheres are getting tedious, this club has let this fan base down for so long, no other clubs fans who had the last five years of this club has had would be any more enthusaistic. Ok we had a record breaking unbeaten run, all that’s got us to is basically meeting minimum expectations for the season, we have been that poor outside of that run.

Yep, and it's frustrating. Like I said.

But it doesn't detract from the joys of the rest of the season.
Joys mabeand disappointments fro..probably the third best team I. The league. They should be giving us a lap of honour for paying to watch them out of our salaries of £30 k per year, compared to their £500k to £1mm per year when they can't be arsed

That's literally the point of the lap ... its as much for the players to thank the fans for their support as it is for the fans to show appreciation.

I just don't think it's worth doing it before the play offs as the season isn't over. I'll give them some love after the second leg

Yeah having it now is weird. Helps add to the end of season, nothing to play for & on the beach feel around the club

Reactions: Toss saints
Russell Martin: “I thought the supporters deserved more today, the players deserved more because of how good they’ve been this season.”

Russell Martin: "I’m disappointed it’s ended at home in this way.”

Russell Martin: "The last week’s been really tough, I know I’m not talking about today’s performance yet but it’s been a really tough week.”

Martin on losing the final home game: "I know we have another game in the play-offs. Frustrating for everyone really; the players, the supporters, [Steve] Baynes the doc who will be leaving us after today after 14 years of service.”

RM: "Stoke were good, more aggressive than us in the first half and that’s what’s cost us. We were a goal behind and we have some big chances, they have a few big chances, too many. But in transition when you try and chase being a goal behind you leave yourself open sometimes.”

Good to see he’s talking as if the season is over
