Now reciprocate...by letting Luongo score the goal that takes you up.

He was a good and honest player for us...and really deserves this

I wasn't there but text a couple of mates who were, after reading your initial post on it, not good to read. One as got back to me saying, the initial booing was for our players abject display, and the only other booing he noted was aimed at a small section of our fans who started a ruck with one another just before half time, then it carried on just after the break, culminating in one of them getting taken out with a busted nose. I've posed the question on one of our forums that a few neanderthals frequent, no response yet.

I would absolutely love that to happen as we all Love Luongo he has been absolutely immense for us all season! Him and Morsy in the engine room of our Midfield are phenomenal.

I’m glad that you are safe. We played two really tough games against you and you shouldn’t have been in this position with the quality you have in your team

I make that 1.45 points per game now which is 67 over the season. Get someone in who is serious about the playoffs NOW.

Thinking about next season, we still have uncertainty over Chair's one year jail sentence. Apparently he's only playing now because the Belgian jails are full! We'll need cover if we lose Chair and Willock both

Well that was a fun evening out.

Farke got his excuses in early in pre match comments, whining about playing twice in five days and saying we were difficult to play against because we play good football and it’s hard to press us. Well lots of teams play Wednesday Saturday Danny, and Sheffield Wednesday pressed us into oblivion here a few weeks ago.

So they didn’t bother pressing us at all for the first 20 minutes or so and played, especially their highly rated wingers, with a sulky petulance that was deservedly punished. They seemed to expect that we would just roll over for them and when we did the reverse they couldn’t handle it. We won just about every second ball the whole game.

We were magnificent and it was great to be there. At no stage did I think we would concede our defence is now so solid and committed. Whereas their ‘statistically best’ CBs let in two headed goals from set pieces- dire, assisted by a keeper who was as bad as Preston’s.

Hopefully we can sign Marti up for a few more years so we at least get some cash for him when he is poached. I suspect we won’t see a fair few of these players again at Loftus Road, a great way for them to sign off. Now I can go to the Cov game for the party!

Chair to prison, Willock (unfortunately) possibly going, Adomah, Begovic, Clarke-Salter off to bigger things....
    Who else do you think?
Must keep Marti above everyone else imo.

Highlights. Make it look like Leeds had much more of the game than they did by showing all of their half chances and only our goals. Still who gives a ****?

Hayden and Hodge loan finishes. I’d keep Hayden if at all possible, not seen enough of Hodge, but wages for either could be an issue.

Dunne and Armstrong contract finishes but we have option to extend for a year. Yes for Jimmy, and for Sinclair if he accepts that he will rarely start, especially if we get a proper striker or two in.

Out of contract: Willock, Kakay, Dixon-Bonner, Begovic, Archer, Adomah, Walsh, Drewe.

Marti has said he wants to keep Willock, let’s see what’s on offer and if he accepts. He’s not PL quality but might not realise it.

The others, bar Begovic, all bit part players, but we do need a squad. Especially goalkeepers.

I think it’s great that Cifuentes has the chance to shape things after a fantastic few months at the club, when he will have the hierarchy 100% behind him. Heard a rumour that he will have £6m to spend but not sure if that depends on Eze being sold by Palace.

Great that the fans got to see Marti and the team sign-off in such great style; well deserved for the support they have given the team that was in such a dire position (I remember fans not even wanting to watch at one stage). Be great to finish the season in big style for the travelling fans too (who have been amazing).

Marti has had the opportunity to see the good, the bad and the indifferent in his 30-odd games now. So it will be very interesting to see what happens with this squad in the off-season. The owners, new CEO and Marti will certainly have a busy time sorting things out especially with un-renewed contracts, players possibly sold on and sorting out some guy call Richard’s. Lots to worry about and lots to look forward to … … in the Championship!

Fantastic performance last night, what a game, what an atmosphere! The last 5/6 matches (bar Sheff Weds) have had the greatest noise at LR I’ve heard since we beat Chelsea when we first got back into the Prem!!
Loved reading this thread when I got back and if you haven’t already I recommend reading the Leeds one for last nights match as well, great stuff!!
Don’t think I’ve looked forward to next season so much in years!! COYRRR’s

It's interesting at various points this season we've had people saying they couldn't give a **** if the whole squad left in the summer. What a difference a few months has made. It will be fascinating to see what the team looks like next season. If they have any sense the players will want to continue the Marti party.

Who knows what we can expect next season, if we close the gap between our crap performances and performances like last night we could have some fun.

Just a side note on last night, he'll be gone after next week but since his Plymouth flap Begovic has really stood up and made some key saves. Also because I'm a big softy it's been really nice seeing Lyndon Dykes playing with a smile on his face again.

After criticising Willock last week I think yesterday was his best performance in years, got stuck into everything and played the ball when he could.

Overall the thing that struck me was how mature every player was, holding positions, not rushing in and offering fouls by stupid pushes in the back and when necessary making the foul in Leeds half before an attack could develop.
Even with his stupid yellow card Colback was still composed, under Ainsworths full throttle he would have been sent off in the first 20 minutes.

    Begovic had his best game.

Dunne showed he can defend and track against a decent winger, aswell as offering an aerial outlet for Cook and Salter-Clark.
I think his skill level often goes unnoticed with him being typecast as just a clobber centre-back.

No poor performances, I'd give MOTM to Chair purely for his workrate. He is always looking to collect the ball, this game he went further though and was ready to turn and play forward.

    The season starts here!

Listening to the post match interviews both Field and Begovic came across as really good people.... I've warmed to Begovic, he's played well last couple of games.....
Made me laugh when interviewer asked Sam about the difference since Marti came in and he replied that would take a few hours to explain...... Great lad....

I thought the ref last night was great. In that he gave us just about everything going. 50/50s, non fouls, the works. Doubtless some kind of complaint will be made.
