I have just seen the prices for the game coming up against Fulham on the 10th December, and I really feel quite strongly that £35 for a ticket is extortionate!

Where are the student tickets? We are not Chelsea £50 or Arsenal £35/40?
We are not top of the table. We are little old Swansea, a club with supporters only from Swansea, we are not a global brand like the top teams.

The away game at Newcastle has student prices, they are in the top four for goodness sake!

What about a childs seat?! £17.50 - it's just too much.

I dont understand why student priced tickets have gone this season. It's not good enough.

By the end of the season It probably would have worked out cheaper for me to buy an early bird season ticket than buy individual tickets for each game I attend.

I'll probably get to 5 this season - If the Jack Army Membership scheme sorts it's self out. Their points system is flawed, I know of a number of people who started off on different points, and that the points they have now doesn't add up to what they should be. Load of rubbish.

    Rant over

Huw Jenks, I hope you read this

    loyal fan - not happy

I have not looked at that Rhys to be honest as I have a season ticket, but £35 a ticket is a bit steep and if I was buying them I would be wondering if its worth that kind of commitment , as for students I am amazed that we don't offer anything for them, if it was me I would write to the club to complain, but probably it will fall on deaf years. Also try the supporters trust

I can understand the business reasoning behind certain things with the tickets that the swans have done or are doing, but it leaves me a little flabbergasted that they are being so ruthless I guess the word that springs to mind, I want our club to be family friendly, and just friendly I guess.

Looking at the price of tickets last season i the east stand for a student it was £16 a game, I realise we are playing higher quality sides etc, but is there any need for an over 100% price rise to £35 for them, they are still no better off than last year

Yea a Letter may be a good idea Jager.
I've been to the away games in London, and my gosh they are pricey!
Also, as a side note, the stewards - I was checked 3 times in the space of 15 seconds before going into the Chelsea ground...Why?

Because its a long held tradition that they do so, and this is the first season that the swans haven't done so in as many years as I can remember. Also I am looking at other clubs in the prem to see if we are the only ones not doing a student discount it's a bit bad.

Considering the time of the year and the expenditure already paid out by many fans I do feel the club could and probably should have made some sort of concession for the Fulham game and possibly QPR for both sets of fans.
The student concession I've never really seen the reason behind it to be honest. The vast majority of students in Swansea are not from the area. Perhaps the club could look at the local schools instead and reinstate the kids for a quid scheme that has been successful in the past. That's where our future support lies and it's locals that end up benefiting.
Unfortunately I'm finding it difficult to put the words Swansea, fans, fairness, value, family into the same sentence at the moment. Since promotion it feels as if a Gordon Gekko type character has taken over the running of the club and is trying to squeeze every last penny out of us, a vampire would would have more morality.

Dilli that is a fair comment about kids for a quid, I took my daughter I think 4 times last season for a game through the school, but it was free and a tenner for myself, and I gave my voucher to a friend as had sit in the south stand, which brings me to the next point, we can't give vouchers to the kids anymore as you got to pay a child's ticket to transfer the ticket over, so an extra £17.50 to do so !

Thinking about it I can see why people are so pissed about the way tickets are being handled!

Surly you must have been a student?
The reason behind the student prices is that a normal adult ticket is too expensive for poor students. I would say a huge amount of Swanseas fan base are in the student category. you're a student when your in college/6th form to the end of university...Unless of course you are a mature student...But even then, I don't know.
The future support of the club lies, yes with the kids in school, but also with the students! Theres not a huge amount of difference in the age in comparison to some of our older fans at the club.

Considering a match day ticket last season was £28.00 for an adult, it is quite at jump up to £35.00, that's a whooping 25% price increase. Not good really. I know this is only for a match day ticket but a fair old price hike.

The problem is, I guess, it's seriously hard to turn a fiscally minded board around from the idea that they shouldn't be grabbing at every penny they can. For years we've been struggling and scraping to get by, and now, they can sell out the stadium with full price tickets. Having said that, if they released 2,000 tickets at half price, they'd only stand to lose 35k, which isn't that great an amount considering the figures involved in Premiership football!

Well it depend on a number of things last season, category a or b games, and which stand you were in £26 was the cheapest seat, and £31 was the most expensive, so it depends on how you look at it. Still the student prices have gone up by 120% which is outrageous as its priced people completely out of the game. I know people will say they shouldn't be getting discounts etc, but as Rhys has said these are the fans of the future, and it's cheaper to watch man utd is some instances than us, which can't be right !

Scott but £35k a game loss equates to almost £700k over the season

Agreed! I meant just a one off gesture. Wouldn't be that big a hit, and the fans would really, really appreciate it!

How are students the fans of the future Jager? IMHO, thats a load of rubbish. If loyal fans cant get tickets, how can you justify subsadised tickets for students? :emoticon-0184-tmi:

Because I was a student once and I found it tough supporting the swans as I was getting hardly anything , but the swans have always given a student discount as far back as I can remember , and like school kids for a pound the club has been offering the community breaks to support the club, including students.

Suddenly we get promoted and the price for these students who could be loyal fans have increased massively, alienating these fans! I am sorry you are pissed off at finding money early for next season, but have little sympathy for others who must do the same at huge price increase!

You found it tough being a student Jager, dont make me puke (Nothing personall). I dont want to turn this against students, but I think you will find that people who have minimum wage jobs and families find it harder in this current climate to renew season tickets or get a matchday ticket. If the club can ****te on loyal fans, demanding money at will, whos next?

That's a bit rich crc, so these loyal fans who happen to be students can take a running jump , so you are happy that the club has not only increased their prices by 120% , they are asking for this money earlier , and let's don't forget that most students won't be able to finance a season ticket as they can't get credit!

I am sorry things are not working out for you crc, but they are not working out for students either, and FYI I was a mature student who went back to college to get a degree, yes I found it tough being a full time student, working nights , being self employed, and supporting a family!

Jager, im not having a go personally, and I dont want to get into one up man ship, ( I did things the hard way to) I have my reasons for the way I think, as do you. But I think that the club has **** on many a loyal fan. I mentioned on another thread, how many clubs change thier season ticket dates to 3 months into the season, this is what origionally pissed me off and anyone that cant afford it gets penalised for every month they save the pennys, unless you want 20% APR. I personallythink it stinks, and so do many loyal fans. <ok>
